I am thinking of getting myself another csl, There is one for sale on M3 cutters belonging to csl steve (on page 2 of cars for sale) does any know the car at all, The reason i ask is car sounds good and chap seems like nice chap but there is a big gap between oil service (13/11/06 at 34924) and inspection 2 (15/4/10 52722) This putting me of slightly was wondering if anyone had any info that may help me make my mind up, The owner thinks car may have been out of country at the time but it still could have had a service, Cheers,

Why dont you call the BMW number that you can check the history on, I think its a £1 and if its been to any BMW service centre (UK or Europe) they will tell you.

I think someone will know the car, Steve used to come on here (I dont go on cutters but I think its the same Steve), have you met his wife ?

The car has a good write up on cutters and *looks* in good condition.

Lack of oil service would put me off slightly but that's not to say it's a bad car. He seems to be an enthusiast and looks after his toys so I would definately give it consideration.

Stiletto chips would put me off more :)

sorry what I was trying to say was, if it was done at a dealers abroad and not stamped BMW would have a record of it.
That gap would be when the inspection 2 should be done....

What has been seen cannot be unseen....forget about the missus.

Concentrate on the car - make the checks per smacs suggestion. If positive, could be a good shout. Didn't make many rhd in black so as long as the usual car buying checks and BMW service checks are ok, worth a bid IMO.

read the bottom of CSLgirl's post.

ref the car, it looked like he looked after it in his time.
You can also find out through the dvla if it left the country and was registered anywhere else.

I would say go and look and take it from there.

looks a very nice car but i'd be wanting that missing inspection2 explained properly. if its been out of the country dvla will know so check up. if not its not worth the asking price tbo and you'll struggle to sell on. there's a few sg one's on here and pistonheads for the same money. no oil change for 20k miles/four years will be no good for a high reving "m" engine

another point worth mentioning is if your after a warrenty bmw will not cover it.

good luck with your search mate, certainly looks a nice car

totally agree with dave wilkinson. there's plenty of quality csl's for sale and the missing history will bite you on the arse come re-sale. if it's a keeper then it's not an issue but not being able to warranty the car is an issue. Keep looking for the right car. i suspect more csl's will be available post xmas excess!!
