Ds2500 are no good for track at all. Dont use them, the heat is too much for them on the front. But ok to put in betweentTrackdays for road use.
Discs are consumables, my guess are if they are hairline cracked they are 2/3 worn (how big is the lip)
I personally would use the AP callipers, they are perfect for the car and pretty bullet proof. Mine have gone thru 4 sets of discs, around 10 sets of pads and no issues at all. Buy some RS29.;)
Not sure about ksport, how easy is it to get parts, seals, nipples, discs and where from?

phone Questmead and ask Alan to do you a deal on some new APs.
If you have the money for 2nd hand Aps then by Feb you will have enough for new, if its only the fronts I bet you are not far off now.

As said above, AP's work trouble free well worth the premium. and if you want to sell in the future you will recover a good % of your outlay:thumbs:

Personally given the choices you have listed I would go for the AP's.
Having owned a set on my last m3 I can vouch that they are simply superb, the back up for service parts and the pad choices are excellent, so if you did have a problem with them you would be able to source parts / replacements for them with ease.
Also, they are tried and tested not only on this forum but many of the others.
Not sure how the K-Sports stack up, they do seem to get a fairly decent review.

cheers guys, still undecided. ksport now keep most things in stock and if not there's a two week max wait. the earthquke in japan messed alot of deliveries up hence some people had abit of a grone.
are ds2500 really that bad on a csl? i'm pretty sure i ran them in my integra (7 trackdays and two ring trips) and they were spot on. went to yellow stuff after that and they were no where near as good :banghead:
i may be wrong tho could have been a different grade of pads i used, can't quite remember.
anybody had alan at Questmead do them a good deal on new ap's? a good deal will probably still be £2000 plus??
i'v got the money for new ap's just can't justify 2k plus unless i have to.
Cave
Don't use ds2500 on track on front callipers.....full stop. Don't listen to anybody else, just don't use them.
Out of all the things I have done withthe CSL, by far the one that I would say has paid dividends 20 times over is the Front APs. By far the most reliable, best built mod I have bought. Certainly of a quality that would fit onto the CSL as OEM, which is more than you can say for most Jap aftermarket mods.

How many factory built race cars are specced with k sport, and how many with APs?
I ran ds2500 on my integra too before moving to 3000s, I tried running ds2500 on the csl and they just smeared themselves all over the disks, cannot cope with the heat generated by a heavy car with a decent level of power and sticky tyres.

+1. AP's are all you'll ever need from a brake kit on an M3 or CSL. To say that probably 90% of owners go with AP say's everything. No brainer, trust us.;)

My first CSL had K sports,
I ditched them bought AP;s front.
then fitted full Alcon kit
Sold that car with Alcons on
My 2nd CSL had AP's
My 3rd CSL has AP's.
If I had a stock car now after trying lots of kits, I would buy AP's.
