A friend of mine run a MINI Cooper S for a while as a commuter hack (when they were New) and said it was very thirsty for a 1.6 four pot + a bit of a squeeze for the over 6 footers :banghead: Great chassis though  once on the open road :supz:
Have a word with Rich (flatout) as he's run a JCW MINI for a while (IIRC), prior to his Z4MC .

will do

Cooper S 1.6 turbo post 2007 is much better on petrol, more miles to the gallon, lower tax band and faster, more comfortable apparently

I've driven the latest cooper works version, they are quite a feisty motor, sound quite good with the exhaust popping and banging too :smokin:

Get one - it might teach you a few things about how to drive mate :hahaha::hahaha:

I Had a cooper S three years ago and have to say it was the best car i have every owned so far. it did everything and although small it managed to lug around me, friends and most luggage

i spent about 4k on it and managed to get it dyno'd at 238bhp after the work. Total hoot and even with the CSL im hankering for a new one.

its quite thirsty and id proably go for the tubro s or even the diesel these days. afterall its the chassis thats the golden nugget on the car..

That one looks great Tommy, but I think I want an OE one and just let I be. I really wan a turbo newer one BUT I don't think I'll do more than 5000 a year and company owned and maintained so cost for running will be reduced.

A guy on cutters has a nice s/c cooper s for about £5k nearby, I might take a look.
