About time. ;):smt055
Don't buy a gen 1 997 GT3 for track use .
Then you are better off with a gen 2 996 GT3 , cheaper so more budget for track mods . And it is as fast as a gen 1 997 GT3 .
A gen 2 997 GT3 is the best choice but they are still expensive .

Daz is shit slow anyway;):hahaha:, and the 997 will look better on his path- be it gen 1 or 2.
Daz does the occasional trackday and ring trips so the 997 gen1 will be ample for his requirements.

AH , he needs car to go shopping with the misses .
A 997 gen 1 will be perfect then

Go the whole hog Daz and get the GT3 RS. You know you want to and if you have a Misses you will not be able to hear her over the engine noise at speed ;).
Win win.

Thought the 996 mk2 had much less power than the 997.1 hence the latter much quicker.... I'm sure there's reason behind your comments since you already have one (I don't) - is it the weight difference??

When was the occasional track day ? 2009 out every thursday prior to test day in race car, and qualy on sat.. so prob did more track time in a season than in 3/4 years for most.. just in a proper focused environment not a mass merchant track day ... missing it loads and the year you got into it I was out .. for the same reasons :-D
By the way .. I totally agree with you Shane .. 997 1/2 the best for what I want .. to enjoy ( not compete ) on track and daily .. to go fast and set times will race again
