View Full Version : M3 CSL Tyres
I own a 15,000 Mile BMW M3 CSL I am looking for some help on tyres.
It currently runs Cups but I am not using the car on any
track days and would like to drive it in the winter sometimes.
What are the best tyre options please.
Many Thanks
Nigel

For your needs, Michelin Pilot Super Sport would be the only tyre I would run - it's a newer version of the PS2 and provides unrivalled levels of grip on the roads... ;)
On track though... you can't beat a CUP tyre, although these have a wear rate of 80 as opposed to the 300 that is on the PSS so won't last anywhere near as long. So I wouldn't bin your CUP's - keep those for spare just in case you want to do a track day in the future - although if they are the original CUP's that came with the car they are probably good for nothing as you should replace them after 3 years really...
Hope that helps :smokin:

Tyre question answered, but where did you find a 15000 mile example? Don't keep it as a garage queen or you will miss out on what the car is all about, diving & having a big grin.
Re Pilot Super Sports I checked the Michelin site and it mentions 2 fitments
POSSIBLE FITMENTS
Front 225 40 R 19 93 ZR(Y)
Rear 255 35 R 19 96 ZR(Y)
Front 235 35 R 19 91 ZR(Y)
Rear 265 30 R 19 93 ZR(Y)
Again apologies to you all but which should I go for ?
Thanks Guys

I am enjoying it I bought a 14,000 miler from Munich Legends 5 months ago and it has now done 15,000 so I am using it for trips at the weekend to the golf club etc and you are right it is an amzing car to drive and it does make you grin when you open the throttle to that amazing sound !! .

Hi
I run the Cups for track days, but bought new CSL BBS rims and put Continental 265/30R19 ZR sport contact 5P rears
Continental 235/35R19 ZR sport contact 5P fronts, they were the best for wet weather and ride, go to site www.tyretraders.com (http://www.tyretraders.com)

Except I went for 245/35 on the front and 275/30 on the rear. The little bit of extra overhang helps to protect the rim as I use mine as a daily driver. I googled a few online sites before buying.
I run AD08s on my current car, soon to be replaced with AD08R.
Anyone tried them on a their CSL?
yea got them on now. R are more instant and aren't as temp sensitive when its cold compared with the AD08's. They are good, but PSS are the better choice for street IMO.
You tried Trofeo R's on the street? Tempted right now. Monkey tried them on a 991 GT3 recently and that thing came with Cups 2's as OE tire and the Trofeo was like a few seconds faster!
