Im thinking brakes and wheels are pretty obvious areas.
What has anyone else here done?
Carbon Bonnet? Bootlid?
Anything else thats obvious?
Cheers
Lee
bonnet yes I would guess, bootlid already made of carbon/plastic composite I thought ?
I can't think of a lot else without either ruining the interior or completely removing any sound deadening etc ....
plastic side windows ? :-D

Not sure if there is much more to do other than strip the interior out.....or maybe buy a 996 911 GT3 RS

some wheels are much lighter than the Csl's one. for the rest... you can remove the aircon, 16kg all system, remove the rear seats, take out the tire repair compressor, change all windows to lexan, take out carpets, radio and more...
up to you...

the exhaust no, only rear box I would say if you take a titanium stuff, for the rest not really , the SS header, the race cat and X pipe are heavier than the Csl pipe, cats and headers. the stanless steel is thicker than bmw Csl serial
the total SS parts (exept the rear box) is 7.6kg heavier that serial
Csl header 3.98kg
Csl cats: ( 2) 10.66kg
Csl pipe: 7.64kg
weight of rear box to come soon original/eisenmann/ss

I have put a BBK on mine, front & rear, and I was suprised at how heavy the OEM discs/pads/calipers where compared to the new ones.
Plus the added bonus of extra stopping power!! :hahaha:

the bonnet is aluminium, you won't get much from a carbon bonnet - unless it's single layer dry carbon that weighs nothing.

Agree, surely it must be just a striped out interior that will make any difference.

the weitgh difference of a standard bonnet and a carbon on in really peanuts, saw 2 models at TMS and checked them, it's not so light with the double structure and the trust bars to make them more solid and less flexible
for exemple le xenon package is 9kg more than the normal lights system
I think and by memory all the options on a Csl as: parkage assistance, aircon, radio, xenons are 36kg all removed
