Just a quick one from a newbie. Everytime i really spank it through the gears in MANUAL mode, sport button on, S5 etc - the DSC light comes on and holds the power back - especially if im racing away from a junction or lights going from say 1st up to 2nd or from 2nd up to 3rd - and its really annoying!! Is this a sign that maybe somethings wrong or do all CSLs do this?? Help!!

That's generally a sign that your driving the CSL like it should be! It can cut in a little much at times, usually when the road is wet/greasy or your rear tyres are shot!

I did actually grow a set of medium sized balls today and turned the DSC off - but it almost immediately went sideways out of a bend and i thought, whoa, lets learn to drive this thing first before we do that again!!!
My tyres are almost brand new, even though they are Conti's!! And the roads seemed dry to me. Just think it seems to kick in a bit TOO much.

Mark had DSC off at knockhill last week in the wet (there was rivers on the circuit) Brave man or he has read his insurance policy

Very easy car to drive sideways, just trust its ability and turn it off.

M-Track seems a total waste of time to me in the dry, i understand from the manual that you may need apply a little counter steer - mines pulling the power before i even start to counter steer... well .... almost ;)
Must say the CSL is *alot* more tail happy then my previous M3!

m trac is a good halfway house if your not confident with it fully off

I've got to disagree, Rich. I drive with M-Track on virtually all the time (both in the wet and especially the dry).
You can still get plenty of sideways action before it starts cutting the power. It's just a matter of learning what the optimum speed/power/wheel position combinations are that M-Track works best at.

I drive with the traction off all the time!
Best way to learn to drive! The hard way! :smokin:

I find M-Track good and have it on on track. it make you drive smoother and cleaner IMO. .

I agree. It's also nice having that final 'safety net' of control if you get a little too excited! :smt096

Ok - i drove the CSL today in the relative dry with traction turned off and sport on - and i have to say that it immediately launches so much better - rather than cut back the power and have the car sort of sink it seems to grip better and go - ive even noticed it spinning the rears a little when changing up to 2nd. Ive also found that i feel slightly more in control and more comfortable using the gear lever to change rather than the paddles, especially when humping it around twistys where the paddle can end up in an awkward position to change etc.
My next challenge is using the Mtrack button - but i best read the manual first!!!
