Basically BUY a OBD socket and lead from eBay....wifi version for iPhone.

Link the two and Off you go, live info while you drive or static info for Fault codes.

If you don't have an iphone/pad but have an other type of smart phone there is an app called 'torq' that does the same job, bluetooth obdII reader is the hardware required.
did you try ? i have a kwifit with some app. and they work on the csl: no rpm, temp etc.....
they work on my 320d touring. i think the csl is not good for that, don't know why

Buy this Wifi OBD2 reader around £50
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260846933627
WIFI OBD2 Diagnostic OBDII Tool iPhone iPod Touch iPad2
from seller Kidult510 Online Shop
THen for Iphone/Ipad download Rev (Rev2) fro Itunes APP store.
The Ipone finds the OBD reader easily (all you have to do is follow two simple instructions to configure your Wifi signal for Apple stuff AND laptop.)
Laptop is a pain but Apple stuff works seamlessly.
i have them : rev, fuzzi . the connection with the car is okay. but reading of the fault codes is not accurate (never had a fault code, everything was ok despite 3 orange lights on the dash). there is no reading of temp, rpm, throttle position etc.....

I have this for 2 years now in my Windows mobile...
Apple is catching up I see ;)
It's good stuff by the way to have this gadget.

~These generic fault code readers are not very accurate.
We use a few different computers at my gaffe, sometimes the codes read differ greatly on the generic ones compared to the genuine merc star machine we have.
Great for you armchair mechanics mind, :supz:
Great for erasing trouble codes though, it may not have told you exactly the correct info. But handy if you run race cats on shit fuel, get rid of that pain in the arse engine light.

Day at Simpsons showed that my 3 faults were all there was, two are emissions as thought due to cast and exhaust, and other was a pre cat Lambda sensor, replaced and all ok.
Also did a spanner check, a bit of front damper servicing, full geo and loads of chat, lunch, coffee, and free wifi.
Had a look around their new facility and a tour of the nearby warehouses :smokin:

Their new facilities are pretty impressive and add a real bredth to what they can offer now in addition to their existing workshops and race services.
I am very happy with the quality of their work in tidying up my 'front end'
