Hi guys, just picked up my CSL and am thinking of doing a trackday in it.

It currently has nearly new PS2's, what are these like on track? I am not after out and out grip, but I do not want to destroy a grand worth of tyres!

Has anyone been round snett on PS2's? If so, what were your thoughts?

Olly

PS2s are not bad as a track day tyre. Ok, they don't offer the ultimate in-corner grip of the Pilot Sport Cup tyres or similar but they do stand up to some real abuse and react nice and progressively during cornering.

The one thing i will say is make sure your car's geo is checked and set up properly and do not run a road based setup as you will wear the outer edges of the tyres when you push on a little more. If running standard suspension you should consider fitting Turner adjustable camber plates and spacing the front wheels by 10/12 or 15mm.

Thanks glen. AS far as i know it will be a road setup I am running.

I think I may just turn up and see if I can get on for half a day..?

if you are careful they should be ok.

it does depend on you as a driver plus geo and tyre temps/pressure but it comes back to if you are a careful
type or a lunatic :)

I did a day at the ring and a day at Spa on my very well worn ps2 (about 3mm when i started) and they were just about legal on the drive home but really need changing. I expected them to wear a lot quicker than they did.
