Well, the insurance is up for the CSL next week, so time to ring around, and I thought I would post this up as it would prove useful for others.
I have been using my broker Premier Insurance for 10+ years now. They always beat whatever quote I get, and I have passed their details onto many other people who have got their insurance through them.
Insurance is for me (grand old age of 36, no jokes please!) & the wife (as I have discovered its cheaper to add your missus!), fully comp, protected NCB, full NCB, one SP30 (3 points), garaged, tracker, good postcode.
The renewel quote from Premier is: £740.
Privilege have quoted: £758.10
Adrian Flux: £542.33
A-Plan: £529
I have also done a Tesco Compare:
Esure: £528.51
Swiftcover, Sheilas Wheels, Halifax, First Alternative: All less than £570
So, I shall be ringing my brokers back, but as they are £200 out, I do not hold out much hope for them!
Aside from my brokers, I am quite pleased with the results so far, but I'm not done yet, and have finally found a benefit to having a wife; cheaper insurance!!! :hahaha:

Right, all sorted.
I've gone with A-Plan for the best quote of £529!!
This is a fully comp policy, protected NCB, me & the missus, legal, £500xs, and for a non-fault claim, I get a car from Performance Car Hire, as apposed to a Micra with coachworks written on the side.
The next best quote I got was from Esure, which was the same, except that I would get a Cat 1 car in case of any repairs. Cat 1 being "a Ford KA or similar"!!!
So i'm happy with that. Thumbs up to A-Plan!!!!

Sort of a trade secret ;) basically its all done online now a days and can be altered constantly to alter the final price, once altered you can then ring up other companies to price match then start again and alter for second time knocking down the price. Online quotes often give inaccurate quotes as its only a computer and does things wrong. And with bell working in conjunction with another company i rung they had to match as company policy. I do it with every car and works sweet every time.
Its simply playing with companies guidelines. Its a hobby of mine..

Bloodyhell it would make me :smt089 if I had to pay over £1000 for car insurance. Think the most I've ever paid was £700 for a Fiat X19 when I was 17.
