lol
Keep the e30 standard and it will hold decent money.
The 3dr hold good dough, but if you tinker I think you limit your market.
E30 for me.

In terms of investment, I wonder if E30s have now peaked? Will a mint Sport Evo really keep going up over £40k, or a Cecotto or Ravaglia over £30k?
I suspect it could be the same for the late 80s/early 90s stuff like Golf Limiteds, Merc 190 Evos, Integrales, Quattros, and maybe Cossies
The smart money seems to be going into CSLs and Z3M Coupes as far as I can see now
Saying that, I'd still love an E30. And an RS500. And...

Yes i'am with you on that! I've got a 190 cossie modified but am always able to restore back to standard so if i got a cossie it would be standard, I used to run around in an rs500 that belonged to my boss at the time back in the day! But we also look after a couple of e30's.

Think they're about the £30-35k mark when they come up for sale. Little more gets you an E30 Sport Evo, and a little more again seems to be the rate for a 190 EvoII (£40-50k)

How have you found the 190? Is it a 2.3 or 2.5?

13-08-2011, 12:21 AM
It's a 2.5 and very dated by todays standards it pushing 250 bhp,Evo brakes suspension and wheels! you really got to work the engine to get the best from it and the gear ratios are all wrong for the engine it has good traction and very stable at speed it a'll do 150 ish all day long but feels like the no 10 bus when you show it a corner! tbo thats a bit unfare as it design was in 1984, The build quality is very good though but only four seats not unlike the csl not good with three kids.

Nice! Don't see too many 2.5s around
I was at Silverstone in the early 90s when someone parked up in a 190 EvoII. Don't think I've ever seen a car get so much attention. There was an Alfa SZ across from it but everyone just seemed to make a bee-line for the Merc

My RS500 fully modified one from standard cost me in excess of 50K only standard thing left was shell, when sold took nearly a year and went to Norway for 19K, that was about 5 years ago.

I had a series 1 rst and i seem to remember if you hit a round about real quick and backed of it was like a mk1 in the wet , i loved my escorts! the main difference with modern cars is you are going a lot quicker for the same fun.

Went for a 16i over a turbo as they're rarer and yes lift off over steer is part of the the driving experience.
The rs2000 is extremely clean, was dry stored from 1989 till last year when I bought it and re commissioned it(I had been looking a nice rs 2 for 4 years!) but unlike some enthusiasts I use it and enjoy drifting it etc.

Thats brilliant Alex  no justification needed for any of the above, class them as a future pension account, thats what I tell the missus when I buy cars  :hahaha: :hahaha:
Did you buy it through Paul? I know he has just sold his black 500 and just put his Moonstone one up for sale last week.
Would love another cossie :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry:
raCedeSignLtd,
I have odds and ends of 16i bits lying around from one of my old ones (not sure exactly what but i'll have a look)
