Just been to a dealer at Leeds to test drive the CSL they are selling. Was it anybody's car on here? Plate is: MA53CHZ SG 38K on the clock.

They don't really give you enough of a test drive to get used to the SMG gearbox. Nice car but there are quite a few marks on the outside and the carbon fibre rear interior was marked quite a bit. I would say the front bumper has been resprayed as well but the dealer didn't say it has or has not.

The noise on the downshift is awesome!!! Just wished they would let you take it for more of a drive.

I would say it is a bit overpriced for the condition but I need to go and look at a few more to compare

Well, i actually bought my CSL today and have to say im still grinning!! The reason dealers dont let you drive them too far is because the CSL's are milage sensitive. Trust me, you need to buy one these, they are truly awsome!! Best bit of the drive home for me was driving through the tunnel at J25 of M25 - windows down and hearing her blip the throttle on the downshift and then hearing the induction roar fill the tunnel with noise as i accelerated out - awsome!!!

Congrats cslbecks...great feeling when you finaly get one.

Jaw F430, wouldn't worry too much about the front bumper being spray as most have had that done, especially if the mileage is higher. The front does attract stone chips. Infact if you find one thats been done it will save you the cost.

Defo mate, you get a fair spread of conditions and modifications. I did just that when i viewed CSLs and made the journey up north to view several over a weekend at a time. It's worth it in the end... :smt023

Prob is a common thing as the marks are from people getting in and out of the back of the car IMO, and there was a couple of marks on the back of the seats which are prob from passengers as well.

Which car(s) have you viewed?

Guess I am being picky but I thought most owners would treat them like I would but from the one I viewed today obviously not :banghead:

The interior is very easy to mark with all that alcantara and carbon fibre. The plastic piece between the rear can get weak especially as passengers use in exit. Mine has a small crack in it and I know of another 3 that have the same.

Also if your passengers aren't carefull the seat belts can scratch the carbon the door when they take them off.......I just don't let anyone in the car except me....that seems to works...people start to think you are a bit anal everytime you tell then not to do this and not to do that when getting in and out.

Ditto the seatbelt / passenger problem - you have to tell everyone to be careful when they remove their seatbelt as its so easy just to let go of it, and if you do it will hit the door card! (Done it twice myself  )

Mine has a few marks on the plastic trim that runs down the sides of the rear seats - i know the guy before me had a young child and it looks to me as though a child seat has possibly made the marks. I have no intention of taking any passengers unless i really have to - but trust me if i do - they will each be receiving a laminated card (similar to the ones you get when you board a flight) which clearly states the "rules" of flying with CSL airways - these rules will cover the entry and exit of the car, what you can and cant touch during the journey and how to sit perfectly still in your seat!!! Does that sound too extreme!!!???

When you drive your cars using the paddels is it normal to get a bit of a clunking noise from the rear diff?

Once you get used to the SMG is it quite smooth to use as the short drive I did it seemed a bit jerky?

Ive had 2 M3's with SMGII and now the CSL - ive always found that if you very slightly lift off the throttle the split second you change up that makes it slightly better if you get it right and also takes some of the stress off the diff (which is the clunking you hear)

Yes mine clunks as well...I belive they all do that.
