Welcome mate,
I won't say you 'won't regret it mate, there is of course a chance you might.... but I doubt it.
There's a few ex-evo and ex-Scooby (also present Scooby) owners on here and will be along soon to pass on some words on Wisdom. What car did you go for?
Best of luck,

Welcome c2nvy, your TME looks superb, shame you had to sell to buy cSL.
You'll find CSL feels slow without the turbo boost but the noise and then the track agility and speed will blow you away, once you get her on track.
By the way, what wing is that on your TME and how much does it cost? are the rear legs adjustable width wise?

I went from a 430ish IX GT to CSL.. At first I was a little dissapointed with outright acceleration. Also took some getting used to, keeping the back end in check after having many years of awd security.. Tbh there's no car on the Market that sounds like a CSL and after the CAT training day at Millbrook i was a lot happier with the car and it's attributes :)

Thanks for all the welcomes  Here comes my story of disaster :banghead:
I started my journey yesterday to view and hopefully buy my csl but omg, what was ment to be a hard mission became mission kill me now.
I'm from Glasgow and the plan of action was to drive my evo to bristol to sell and then today get a lift from the buyer to Cornwall to veiw the csl however on the m6 toll road right at the pay toll, engine started to knock in the evo:banghead:
I'm not sure how it happened but it has and this is my 3rd forge build engine and the 4th engine I've had since owning the car. The car has been mega strong for ages now too so total :banghead:
Anyways this happen around 8pm and I eventually still managed a deal with the buyer and eventually got the car to him etc (5hours of waiting for rac etc) tbh I was not bothered wanted was still wanting it or not as I knew I could just fix the evo and use it hard again as it's been the fastest a-b car I've owned and spent crazy money on the car on the car since owning it.
Now my banks a few grand shorter than I hope for I'm still going to see the
csl however if it's not 110% I'm just flying home as I still feel gutted and
annoyed at what has happened and if the csl doesn't make it home I'd just go get ran over.
This is the car and please if anyone knows anything about it let me know ASAP, I've got my iPhone so I'll keep a look out on here for any info people
have.

It's not at that price mind( a lot more actually) and incase the link doesnt work, it was on eBay and has ap front brakes, stop tech rears , ss back box with kw coilovers, uprated roll bar and the plate is Dy54czl hpi is fine however maybe someone might know more about it.
Sorry for such a long post and forgive me if this doesn't make much sense but 2hours sleep as not helped;(
Thanks and if I've missed any question out on previous post I'll get back once I'm back to normal:thumbs::smokin: or settled again :supz:

The car was advertised by 'throbindonkey' on ebay back in January (new ebay seller says bought 7 months ago so sort of matches up). Then it had 50,000 miles on it and advertised for £25,950 - a/c mentioned only.
So its only done 3888 miles in 7 months and hes spent £15k on it

What is with the 'dot' after the mileage before the trip counter? They don't normally have this 'dot', here's a picture from a car for sale on PH.

I was told by someone that worked for Hexagon of Highgate, a technician, that this 'dot' signified mileage correction, I don't know how much fact is in this as have never seen it on a car until seeing this picture and have not investigated it myself, but I would be checking the service & MOT history on this car very carefully.

no, you can easily change to 24hour with a press of the button......but get the 'dot' checked out for sure ;)
Common then, fess up - who has just run out to their car to check if they have a dot?

Only thing I'm thinking even by looking at the service and mot history he could have altered the dash before the next time the mileage was recorded at a garage etc;(

Yes, but like I said, I don't know the meaning of the dot to be a cast iron fact. It maybe worth ringing a BMW dealer or UK and speaking to someone there, or getting the car read by a dealer, as I believe mileage and VIN are sorted in more than one location on the car, ECU, LKM etc.

Ah ok cool, I'll try call to see as I don't think there's time to pop to a dealer or if there's even one near him, thanks for that

The dot does mean that there's some disagreement between the various bits of the car that all hold the mileage reading (the dashboard itself, the light control module and the keys, I think) - it's an anti-clocking measure.
No doubt there's some way it can happen innocently, but you'd want to be pretty sure of the car's history. The obvious thought is that the car's been amateurishly clocked, since it's certainly possible to clock them and avoid the dot appearing.

Cheers for that:supz: If it's got good history like the seller says then I'll concider it if it's mint looking plus someone said it was only at 50k a few months ago without the dot so couldn't have done alot more than the 4k could it.
There is always a risk buying privately and especially a car from eBay. If it doesnt feel right then dont rush the purchase just because youve sold our evo. I would be slightly dubious that the seller spent so much on it over a short time and low miles just to sell it again.
Definitely phone bmw to get verification of service schedule and mileage and ideally you could arrange an inspection if you are unsure.
There are couple of similarly priced SG with warranty on pistonheads.
Good luck.

Do you know this for fact, as it could have been there when it was sold 7 months ago.
Either way it requires a thorough and satisfactory explaination.

Got there and the car had bird shit all over it, dead flys, spider webs, dirt you name it, it was on the car. Interior was a joke, dirt everywhere. My White shirt after sitting on the car come out brown. I said I thought you cleaned it and he started saying he sells metal not a valeter and I dont care if it sells or not, I'll just cover it and it'll make money in years to come blah blah and got all pissed off. This is a shorten version but honestly pissed off doesn't describe how I feel.

Thats pretty crap mate, some right to$$ers out there.
Stick to your guns and dont let something like this put you off, when you get the right one and spend some quality time behind the wheel you will love it.
I've now had mine for over 2 1/2 yrs and love it to bits. Years of Cosworth, Evo and Subaru ownership (almost every type of cossie, an evo VII RSII and a 22b) and it would take a hell of alot to send me back there.

Sorry to hear this, but just read this thread from the top and by page 2 it seemed there was only going to be outcome....
I think the guys will endorse the following:
1. Try and view/buy a known forum car where possible
2. Avoid eBay unless it is for a car that is also advertised within a known web community - there may be a reason why it is ONLY advertised on eBay.
3. If you're gut feel is wrong - walk away
4. Be patient - these cars are rare. Of 422, I'd speculate that there will be a story associated with 30-40% of them (including those RIP).
5. Despite the above, cash remains king. Economy is fooked so never EVER pay over odds. Customer is king right now.
Good luck

I don't agree with that. Good advice would certainly be never to blindly bid on an ebay advert without viewing the car.

I saw a mint 9,999K mile car which was "owned" by a BMW HQ Bracknell employee. The problem was nothing said he legally owned the car and the story kept changing about who he got it from and why it had missed a service and was not warranted.
At the moment he offered to hide the fact he owned the car I walked.
