Hello all!

Recently registered after collecting my CSL a few weeks ago. I had originally been on the lookout for an e30 evo sport as a weekend car but stumbled across a good deal and snapped it up. You all know this already but it is simply awesome :supz:. Cant believe now that I waited so long to own one........

Previously had a bulletproof 2001 carbon black e46 M3 for 7 years and over 150k miles, but the CSL is just tighter, sharper, louder, complete different experience for me. I have an alpine white F10 520d m sport as my daily hack.

Anyway my CSL - 04 SG FBMWSH currently on 51k with options of AC PDC xenons rain sensor business stereo (i.e. tape player lol). Still has the warning/running in stickers in the windscreen!

Welcome to the board Sir, you'll find tonnes of good information on here, maybe even some info/history on your car. Someone may recognise it...

Tape player? Seriously? They usually come with a Business CD player as an option, never a tape player. This is a new one, photos please. I think I can take a stab at the plate, but won't say. If it is, then I think it's known on here.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes honestly a tape player and no CD player............Dont know why/who would have specced that originally! Hopefully a more mature careful audiobook listening driver haha. Will take a pic later.

Welcome and congrats Jay!

Do you have a 6-CD changer in the boot? My old 53-reg 325 had a tape player and I was told it was because that was the standard spec when a changer was ordered

The options available on new CSLs seem to be getting better as the years roll by ;)

Welcome to the CSL Register and congratulations. I am a big fan of the e30s having had three or four. I would have bought an e30 M3 a few years ago if most were not left hookers. I bought an e34 M5 instead that proved to be an expensive mistake although I still loved it. I sold it when the CSL arrived.

Thank you very much for the welcome!!! Also thanks for the offer on the tapes..........must confess have been listening mostly to the engine note and exhaust with the window down haha

Tape player wise unfortunately there is nothing in the boot but i did find an ipod cable in the glovebox. Not tried it yet but that might explain some of it. I will dig out the original sales invoice with the options listed to try and work out which model stereo it is.

Yes pip - I really regret not buying an evo sport a few years ago. I went to see a couple but stupidly thought they were overpriced (at 9k and 12k :banghead: ). The evo sport I viewed recently was more expensive than the CSL and I couldnt justify buying it at that price. I made the right choice in the end!
