Got my new Ap's fitted the other day  so have a set of brakes laying around.
What if any, are the differences between std M3 and CSL ones. A couple of my sons friends have already asked if im going to sell how much and tbh i havn't gto a clue of there value.

What sort of prices do they go for? Discs are in good condition pads are nearly dead...

Cheers Vic:thumbs:

Cheers Vic:thumbs:I think its only the front discs which are larger. The rear discs and all the calipers are the same as the std M3.;)

I'm pretty sure the callipers, discs and carriers are all different on CSL to M3

Seem to recall from somewhere that the front discs are from the E39 M5?

Question! why would BMW put bigger discs on the front, then use the same size pads as the std M3?.Is it because bigger discs will cool quicker?

Front caliper is mechanically the same just painted glossy. Front carrier is different so is the disc. Little known fact rear caliper is also different the piston size went from 42mm to 46mm shifting the brake bias slightly rear ward in the csl

Question! why would BMW put bigger discs on the front, then use the same size pads as the std M3?.Is it because bigger discs will cool quicker? The pads would be working at a greater radius and therefore have more "leverage" so to speak, and I presume better stopping power :smt102

No wonder mine flew out the door - I only asked for £200. Only done 16k and the paint was as new. Bugger!

I'd personally hang-on to the original brakes, just so if you ever wanted to go back to standard when selling.

Been trying to find the video of a chap who's Z4M brakes failed on track but luckily spun through a gate to an a-joining field.
