Looking around at a few CSLs the common milage seems to be around 30-40K, from peoples experience does the car still feel "tight" like when it was new or do they feel loose and develop rattles etc?
There are a few with lower milage but the dealers are wanting £35,000 for them
How much would you guys think can be knocked off the asking price?

is that really a major problem of point to stop on..... I'm not shure, I know a 90000miles Csl and a 145000miles M3 (OMG engine) owned by hard and ruff drivers and they are still on track with the original engine without any problems.
until the car is correctly followed with Bmw dealer, oil change, and engin heatup respected, I wouldn't argu on a Csl even with 15 or 80000miles until the price is rating with car condition and millage

I wouldn't get hung up on mileage...after all these are BMW's so should take the mileage with ease. More important is condition and history...you could have a car with 15k on the clock thats been ranted within an inch of it's life or a 60k mike car thats been lovely cared for....history and condition I say.
I bought mine last June private with 46k on the clock. Had it serviced 2 months later with no issues. The car feels tight and is losening up nicely.

Got my eye on two at the moment, one has 38K on it for £27K and the other has 39K on it for £30K so condition and extended warranty will be the deciding factor

I am on my 3 CSL now and it has 54000 miles on it, and it is like new.
i had 1 with 19000 miles and if i cover the speedo up you would not know,
as long as it has been looked after and has the bmw warranty.
Miles dont mater if the price is right

Yeah, I've driven one with about 70,000 miles and it felt amazing! And I've had mine since 0 miles.

Know what your saying, but is a car that is *slightly* better worth an extra £3k?? Quite abit of money that!

I think it really depends on the car's condition.... I am in Australia... I checked out a couple more CSL before I bought mine (not many choice down here)...
I just bought mine about 3 months ago with 8750 miles on the clock... and when I checked out the other two before I bought mine.. there was one with only around 10,000 miles on the clock, but that car looked like it had been used for more than 60,000+ miles... the interior and the exterior conditions were really bad!!!
Buy a car based on its condition (although milage is also quite important as well) and you will not go wrong with it! Best of luck!

I initially wanted a sub 20k mile CSL but most command unrealistic premiums for what is in essence the same car as long as it's serviced by the book on time as well as all recall work having been carried out...
In the end i went for my 36k mile car rather than several lower mileage ones back in May after haggling it down to £32k in a private sale. I went for this car as it's condition inside and out was far superior to the lower mileage cars and the owner was a proper 'enthusiast' like me! Oh, and it had warranty outstanding which is a nice thing to have. :-D
I have since put 10k miles on my car but as i plan to own it for the next 5 years, this isn't a major worry. I use my CSL for what it was designed to do and enjoy it very much indeed...! :smt077
