Bit of advice please!

Had the misfortune of picking up a puncture in Rear tyre (feckin' nail), managed to get it repaired at local tyre shop. Just wondering if you think the puncture repair would hold up during the abuses of a a track day?

Cheers, Grant

Where exactly is the puncture's location?

I punctured a brand cup, it had done less than 100 miles! It was near the edge of the tyre so decided not to repair, especially as I was on the way to the ring, got a super sport fitted near the tunnel.

I suppose the upside is that I have a part worn rear cup for sale

I had a puncture in one of my nearly new Cups. I drive to the Nordschleife on PS2 and take the Cups for track so was happy to get it repaired for track use only. I should add that they would not repair it in Deutschland. Possibly a bit of an oxymoron but hey ho, using it on track only that is.

My puncture was in a similar spot and as it took 24 hours for the pressure to diminish sufficiently I used it prior to repair on track without an issue. Past performance is no indication of future intention as they say. A side wall puncture is probably more dangerous.

I have repaired 3 Cups with punctures all similar position.

It is not a shoulder or tyre wall puncture so as long as they use a proper glued mushroom patch and plug I am happy to use it on road and track.
