:bigcry:

:hahaha:

Had a bit more sideways fun on the last wet laps, this time intended though:hahaha:, Was playing for Duncs camera. He should have some good footage.

Was a great day, had some great fun battling with Will in his Evo, had some really good laps together. And some great laps with Duncan too.

Steve was flying in his festiva, great through the twisties, shame it tops out at 67mph;). It looked like a dog having a piss through the corners, rear wheel about 1ft off the ground.

The E92 was great, esp considering I was virtually stock, bar cup+, lowering springs and uprated pads. It was quick too, lacked the finesse of a CSL, showed its weight, but it still held its own really well.
In the morning it was great, but after some heavy use I started to fook the front tyres, and in the afternoon my tyres where fucked. To drive them really fast, they will chew tyres. They seem to have far less front end grip than the CSL, and it suffered a bit of bump steer. It understeered quite a bit.

I have chewed a brand new set of front cups, obviously with a good coilover kit and good geo too, it would be far better.
The stock brakes, with just uprated pads alone where fantastic and never faded all day, they lacked the outright feel of a big brake kit, but they stopped it on its nose lap after lap. Although Duncs CSL far outbraked me, the weight and geo being the big factor.

Overall the E92 is a great car and was really good on track, it was harder to drive fast than the CSL was, but I reckon with the correct mods will be just as quick in the right hands.

The straight line grunt out the slow speed corners was epic and it left the CSL's looking like they where in reverse, the DCT helping with that.

My parting comment..... the E92 will never be as good as CSL on track, but can be nearly as fast- track dependent.

Now if the CSL had the same grunt as my M3 then the CSL would be even more epic.

A great great day, and night too.

Good to see all you guys again.

PS Dunc, get my sliding vid posted up.

It was a balanced throttle not a fookin lift !!! And anyways, if i DID lift it was only because Phil told me to ! I think he was worried ... rest of afternoon I was on it through there, everyone else I followed through braked ffs !

Of course ... you dont need to lift through there if you are only doing 64.5 mph !

A video of my best lap of the day, a 1m 40s which Im pleased with especially as it was on Cups not slicks. Checked a few previous CSL Cup times out there and not totally embarrasing !
I was under instruction from Phil House. My first time there but really liked the place, great club drivers circuit.

Will post the 1m 42s WET lap of myself and Lawsy, with Lawsy doing some showboating later .... keep him guessing !

Great lap Dunc.

I reckon my best was a 1.38 in the morning, it looked I was the 3rd car ahead of you in that vid, in front of Will getting chased by the caterham thing. Tyres where bollocksed in the afternoon. In morning I could take the back section flat out, but in afternoon it felt like I was floating through the corners, so had to be very careful. Your Adam will tell you what it felt like. :clown:

I must be getting sensible in my old age, I stopped when the rain started, not like me:gayfight:

I must admit, it was a great relaxed day, one of the most enjoyable days I have done.

Nice vid dunc, but your braking to early and coasting into turn1 and tower, good line through jim Clark but you need to on the gas by the first curb there, and get that noggin turned at sunny in so you get on the gas earlier at sunny out.

Not sure John, We were pretty close, his car is far quicker for sure, but not sure he was 100% on it. One thing I was surprised with about the E92 was how much more power it had than the CSL. Obv not as good through the twisties, but held its own ok. But out the slow stuff it was animalistic.

The car felt great early on, only towards dinner when the tyres started going did it feel funny, very floaty through the esses. After dinner was ok for a few laps then floatiness back again.

It would be fine for a "hobbyist" trackdayer;), but with me pushing quite hard, a set of tyres per trackday is too much:whistle:

The brakes held up pretty well.

conlethEarly days with the 265 set up, but first impressions were very good, handled really well, but Cupos were brand new, and they always work well new, so will wait and see, throw the fronts to the back for next time, then check wear across face, I need to add some front toe in though imho, to stop those inner edges scrubbing out too early, turns in well, but its killing tyres !:banghead:

Cheers mate, I will add that to my notes, I appreciate it. Im aware that Im too early on the brakes sometimes, driving it like a road car instead of using the massive stopping potential I have with the PF and AP set up, I shall need to take time to test that out and become one of the late brakers ! Thanks for input Curly !

Don't add toe in, reduce camber, you don't need as much as you have.
