A few photos from my trip to the Ring this week where the weather was awesome and there were some nice machines although unusually few CSLs.

The Destination Nurburgring private track days were superb and very well run/organised. I will definitely be doing more of these in the future vice the TF that i usually do as it was so much safer/quieter on track with considerate drivers rather than the usual clowns that you see on the public days...

My car had a geo check at Raeder prior to the first day and i ran -3.5 degrees of camber on the front and -1.7 degrees on the rear. I am now happy with my BBS wheels setup although i had to run with DSC fully off :smokin:

I met a few familiar faces (Jim, Curly, Ian, Jez, Craig, Simon & the boys) and met a few new too (Johnny & Mick) and we had a fair few laughs & beers in the Pistenklaus each night! I also saw mattCSLnut, monkeycsl, and Clayton at the TF but didn't get the chance to speak to them!

-3.5 butt boy!

When i say not many CSLs, i was referring to the track days. There were plenty on the TF

I'm waiting to see Curly's video too...!

I don't think so - doesn't look right for there either!

They recommended -2.5 for the Ring but i had -3.5 set for UK track days. Cup tyre wear is fine as i carry them in the car on the trip over - as you well know!

285 rears make DSC cut in a lot more even when in M-Track mode so i had to disengage it totally as it was unsettling the car too much. DSC off with SMG in mode 6 is great! :smokin:

Yeh, the picture has thrown me as to where it is... Quiddlebacher kerbs always seem longer and as if they run down hill, the Ice Kurve kerbs end quickly and you can see a visible mud line from where cars run over the grass.

Jochen has a photo of me once that took ages to work out, I guess its down to the angles the picture is taken from and how far around the corner he was when taking them?

*EDIT* Its Hocheichen after Hatzenbach - Point to Jim! :D

Was great to meet a few of you guys! Had a great trip, managed to have loads of fun - got plenty of fast and plenty of fun laps in too! Managed to get the heavy girl round in 8:02BTG on the GPS which was lovely, so now begins the slippery slope of turning this car nearly into a CSL. Argh.

I've only found 2 pictures so far of the car not sideways though - guess a boring M3 just blends in the background!

I like them now mate and feel confident on them although it took 2 UK TDs to get used to the 'feel' and i also have to drive with DSC fully off when 'pushing on' due to the wider rears.

Regards times at the Ring, i rarely time myself tbh but Jim has footage of us doing an 8m15s BTG which is about my average TF time, traffic dependant.

I do know that i could probably go a little quicker on the BBS, in particular by increasing my corner entry speeds over the OEM 19's setup.

I wanted a 'proper set of track' wheels and at the time 18" tyres were cheaper than 19's. Tyre cost is very similar now... :banghead:
