New Disks and pads needed for my CSL

I need advice please.
Spent a few hours at Brands Hatch yesterday for the first time in the CSL. I have tracked many cars and the thing is fast, and haddles perfect. Very impressed except,
My discs are knackered, both fronts and rears.
I mights put AP's on, but if not and i stay standard for the time being how much should i be paying?? its not going to a main dealer.
If i just change the pads and fluid will that make a difference??
Silverstone in 3 weeks so i need to get a move in!!!

I got standard discs from bmw Cheltenham,they seem to give as good a price as any body,have a look on the Simpson motorsport site for uprated pads,performace friction ones are pretty good,or even better are the Pagits but cost a lot more and yes you could do with uprating the brake fluid,any good fluid will do with a high boiling point,ive got Motul 660,others use Ate blue or Ap and Castrol do one.Braided hoses also help and are not a bad price.;)

Ive just supplied a set of Pagids for a CSL, Fronts in 29 and rears in 14 good combination and not to bad a price.

EBC pads are the shittest pads in the world, after 3 hard 90mph stops the pedal just goes hard with no effect. Shit for road, absolutely useless for track too.

My CSL had EBC yellow pads fitted when i bought it. They juddered all the way round the Ring - hardly a place known to be particularly hard on brakes... I prefer the term 'Wank'... :hahaha:

whilst i am so tempted to go AP's i reckon i will go standard and uprate the pads, lines and fluid.
One of the reasons for not putting on AP's is that as the car has only done 19k miles (and i paid the price for that), i have a hunch it will devalue it cos people will think its done 19k track miles. could be wrong!!!

If you plan to track the CSL more than a couple of times a year you will regret not fitting bigger brakes - to the front axle at least...

Unless you intend to 'pootle' around tracks you will quickly find you are pushing the standard brakes beyond their limits on a track day, on short UK tracks at any rate.

IMHO - and experience! :whistle:Im finding this now,after [pootling] around for the first couple of trackdays my standard brakes are now not good enough,at Snett a few weeks ago i was having trouble stopping after a couple of laps:bigcry:So i am going BBK as my next mod,even if its just on the front to start with.:smokin::thumbs:

Front is enough Brett then throw some uprated pads in the rear for good measure

I have done alot of miles and high speed stops with the r32 which is a fairly heavy car and the yellowstuff pads have been fine no judder no loss of brakes at all each to their own i guess,I also used them on my 306 track car with no problems.:blalalala:

Quick hijack here as nobody answered my last post on this. Yes, it is probably a stupid question but I have APs all round but the braided hoses are only on the front calipers. Is this correct or has somebody taken a shortcut??

Rear kit uses the original hoses. You can buy a set of rear Goodridge braided hoses and replace the OEM ones. AP don't supply braided rear hoses just the banjos

I have std discs and RS29's all round..fine for me to date , as I've been a pootler over the last year :gayfight:

No worries mate. Just bought a used set of rears and rang AP to check if they supplied braided hoses and they confirmed they don't
