The more I look at them Steve the more and more I dislike them tbh! I've always preferred the shape of the E46 as well, more than happy with the CSL :)

I was just about to type the very same!

I was all for these when they first appeared - apart from the cost of course... But, the more i look at them they just appear 'awkward' to me and like some 'hatchet job' to roll out of a tuner shop somewhere... :banghead:

Marmite Tango paint aside, there are simply too many 'questionable' styling elements that would deter me from owning one, despite their performance or subsequent drop in price over the coming years.

Give me a boggo 997 GT3 or E92 M3 Coupe in white any day!

Whatever is the discount on it - you're better off with a 997.2 GT3

+ 1

Only thing it's going for it is the rarity value, mind you that might be do with the fact they thought they would struggle to sell north of anything in four figures production

It put a smile on Valentino Rossi's face when he drove it, so in my reckoning it must have something good going for a road car to make him smile ;)

fifth gear testing the gts on friday's show 1930 Hrs 8/4/11 Channel 5.

shimmy's pic of the gts's c/f roof says it all "roof filled in to hide the shark fin antenna area"... very poor . Bodging a stock m3 roof for the most expensive M3...

csl all the way....;)

A snip at £125k though, no? I particularly like the thoughtfulness of leaving a CF panel for ease of nav retrofit... :hahaha:

going back to the all important 'ring' times... what tyres did the GTS run on to set 7.48 time? Everyone keeps going on how only two seconds had been shaved off CSL's time on cups... i'd be interesting to compare like for like spec and results.

I love that small diameter, thick steering wheel in e92 M3. Anyone agrees with me that BMW makes one of the best... steering wheels? :hahaha: AMG and Porsche should learn from BMW IMHO.

What's the going rate for a CLK DTM these days?

still no worries

if it was a stock csl all you would need to shave 2 sec's off is big brakes !
(and you get lot's of change out of £125,000)

I guess you know he drives an M3 CSL but he didn't buy yet an M3 GTS

 I didn't know he had one.

The only motorcycle racer I knew had one was Shakey Byrne a few years back.

On web site it's POA...Although I'm sure I say it advertised for around 98k....Now would you buy it for that. I do love the GTS but thought it was a shame BMW never made it look a bit more special.....As Mercedes did with C63 AMG Black....I think thats the car I would have instead of the GTS..

I will break rank here and say that I seriously contemplated one of these. I've been and wasted more than one dealer's time in the last 12 months kicking the tyres. They may be in a bad colour, with a cheap wing and some awful interior features, but my God it was everything you would want in a BMW in many other ways. In the flesh, they are lovely and sound awesome.

The deciding fact against it was that for the money and the sacrifice needed to buy it, it didn't stand the value test against, say, a regular E90 with £25k of aftermarket kit. As an investment, it would do ok but I wouldn't be able to put miles on it (no use). And my wife correctly said that I would look like even more of an utter tit than usual if I cruised around in a bright orange car with some scaffolding in it.

She got it in one - Orange is so last years colour!
Now the proposed 'M235i Racing' is something else worthy of consideration, with or without scaffolding and the tea tray, not to mention half the price!

And if Porsche launch their 991 GT3 RS in orange, it will be be back in fashion. ;)

The GTS orange goes back to the BMW Jagermeister racing cars dating all the way back to the 70's, and has been used on many subsequent models.

Porsche have also used that colour on their race cars

Look, without a doubt it is a stunning driver tool...I like the orange....would it be an investment ?....May be in years to come but surely it has lots of money to loose first...Look at our beloved CSL it dropped to 25k before it started to go back up.........

Is it worth 100k of your money...Thats the question...Great car or not. BMW were better off making more of then and dropping the price then at least more would get to drive and own what is a brillient M car........

I actually preferred the GTS over the CSL. Thought it was what the CSL should have been in the first place. Not to take anything away from the CSL though, as I absolutely loved it too (had one for 7 years from launch). Just that the GTS was a little more hardcore (and IN YA FACE)

Unfortunately I'm missing the money more than both the CSL and the GTS :hahaha:

Merry Christmas all
