Sportauto have done a test of the cayman r at hockenheim the car was on REO50A tyres
M3CSL on cups 1.13.5
M3GTS 1.12.5
CAYMAN R 1.12.4
Not to shabby for a PMP;)

I MUST admit that I drove the Cayman S at Porsche Silverstone in the summer and it had recaros and PDK and it felt absolutely sorted, a fine car and IMHO a better car vfm than the RS we drove the same day.
But I looked queer in the drivers seat so I could never own one!

so the latest greatest technology in a TWO SEATER beats a knackered CSL. It won't be a deal breaker for me. :hahaha:

Proper cars them caymans, shame Porsche won't give it the engine that chassis deserves, great cars.

Great cars, so balanced and on a fast road blast not much is better.
And John is proving they are quick on track too.

Great cars, so balanced and on a fast road blast not much is better.
And John is proving they are quick on track too.And you can order them with the optional extra .... a fookin 200 litre capacity washer bottle !!:hahaha:

Mine is a standard CaymanS apart from the trackday tyres, its about 70kilos heavier and 10bhp down on power, mine on a circuit like spa against CSL would probably be down about 2 car lengths on a CSL on the main straight but in any 2nd gear corners I would say the Cayman is quicker and in any 3rd and 4th gear corners a CSL would be slightly better. I am only running a stock Geo with 0.5 camber at the front I reckon with after market suspension and more camber it could be just as good in the high speed stuff.
