We have got our mx5 rental rocket ship needing a driver for Event 2 at Rockingham on 15-16 April.
As with all our cars, we aren't making money (it is not a business) but just trying to get all our cars out every race firstly to spread the cost of support (and my fine Cuban cigars) and secondly to make a case for sponsorship later in the year or next year. This car is Sean's who has moved abroad since we started so available all season effectively.
Anybody with a race licence wants to race round the International super sports car circuit at Rocky please get in touch with me as we will need to cancel the entry this weekend if we don't get any takers....
first to leave £100 deposit for our entry gets the drive:D

What's the full cost shimmy?
And what happens if you get race bumps to the car, which let's face it, with the numbers on grid is more a matter of when, not if.

Our price for Silverstone was £1k all inc except insurance and BRSCC membership. Includes support, fuel, consumables, car, entry.
You bend it you pay. (like it was yours) at cost.
Three insurance options
Full liability circa £8k
£5k deposit no fee
£2k deposit/excess £250 fee
£1k deposit/excess £350 fee
We are refining the rental price as we go. insurances seem to have gone massively up this year and would be £400-500 but we have self insured.

What about engine/gearbox failures etc etc
Say it throws a rod out of bed or the gearbox blows up, I take it the team foots this, rather than the driver.

Unless we can show abuse by the driver it is the owners problem (we data log DL1 and have rpm limits)

Price is for the Event itself which includes qualifying and 2-3 races over 1-2 days.
Testing is done before either Trackday or test day and is charged at cost only so basically you can use the car to test but have to pay for the Trackday and consumables and delivery if you need it ie no extra rental cost.
