I think you'll find they are comparing them to Cup+ on E92 and 997.

Ive not tried them yet but I think they look a fantastic tyre for all round use.

I cant compare them to CUPS as I've never driven on them, but I had Super Sports fitted on friday and after a weekend of good driving on them I can confirm that they are officially AWESOME

Obviously this is just on the road, and I'm yet to have them on the track, but compared to PS2's they are like night and day. The biggest difference I've noticed is how quickly they heat up, they offer a lot of grip very quickly.

Cant wait to test them on track. :smokin:

A little private one way road in the Eifel region should fit the bill  at the end of April  I'll be there on Full PHAT 19" CUPs :smokin: for comparison purposes obviously

Yes most definatly - CSL experiment's here we come :hahaha:

Although I'm sure you'd be quicker with or without CUP's so it wont be much of a fair test, you can have a lap in mine by all means though ;)

:hahaha: thanks for the head-start!

I'm sure she would be up to the job (well I bloody hope so as that's what I've bought it for!!!) but I guess just borrowing the fancy CUP's :gayfight: would be a much better test as our suspension and brakes etc are different!

Sounds like a plan

I'm booked in for a set of 4xPSS on Friday, so I can give some first impressions. Price was £1066 from Blackboots/Wheels-in-Motion in Chesham, and I'm also going to get them to do a geometry check at the same time.

The price is a few quid more than Event, who were the absolute cheapest, but I've used Blackboots a few times, as they're a cut above the usual tyre places and also the only one I've yet found near here that seems to be able to balance 19s consistently well.

still no worries

+1

If you had CUP's on the rear and Super Sports on the front I imagine it would be mega oversteer on the roads and mega understeer on the track :hahaha:

I have had my super sports on for about a month now, used the car slot the last few days and have to say they are excellent, better than PS 2's.

OK, they're fitted. So far the verdict is  . They seem noticeably grippier and also quieter than the half-worn PS2s they replaced.

Anybody tried these on track yet or the Ring? I had a set put on yesterday and i am thinking should i leave second set with cups at home and just use PSS as i cant be arsed with that extra stuff for a long journey or take cups anyway as ive got a 2 dayer there next week.

Any advise from the ring vets..:smokin:

It depends what you want from your trip? And how well you know your car?

Have you been before? The PSS would be ok to go and learn the track IMO, the tyres supposedly lower limits will mean that you are travelling that little bit slower, when you go round that corner expecting it to turn right when it turns left......

Or if you are a nutcase just put the cups on and leave them on as the weather is looking fantastic for this week ahead at the ring:smokin::smokin:

I'll see you at the pk then

I couldn't believe my eyes earlier watching the BTCC, the baby Ginetta's were running Michelin PSS, they looked fantastic on them, instantly recognisable!

Only done about 50miles in them dan but they heat up 10 times more than my GY F1's.

Cheers Jim

First trip to Ring i would put cups on but dont think there is enough rubber on them to get me back but they are going anyway i cant be without ive come to my senses although i will be giving the PSS a burn aswell to see how they go.

You going then what is PK?

Any thoughts on how Super Sports seems to last on normal road use comparing with PS2's? Thanks!

Depends on driving style but I suspect they will be in between the PS2 and
the Cup on normal roads.

If you tend to do lots of miles then stick with PS2's for daily and use spare rims with cups for track. Mine isn't used for track or as a daily driver (other than trips to the ring) so the Supersports will be going on

I did around 400 km over last summer:) OK, I will try Supersports probably. Nothing much else to choose. I think Michelin is no longer producing PS2s in size 265/30, by the way.
