Dear Forumn members, please can you help?

I'm interested in purchasing a 2004 SG BMW CSL here in New Zealand a rare car in this country with only 12 original examples coming in and 2 being wrote off since.

The car has the following upgrades fitted and i was intereseted to find out what value they add to the car?

AP 6 pot front cali[pers
AP Larger diameter front discs
AP 4 pot rear calipers
Full Milltek stainless exhaust system
Full racing suspension (dampers and springs) the make of which illudes me at this time.

The car is in good condition for NZ roads with small stone chips to the usual high wear point areas. It has covered 59000kms or 36500 miles approximately and has a full comprehensive service history from NZ BMW authorised dealers.

The current owner also has the standard parst to replace the upgrades if the new owner chooses to go this way.

I have been scanning the usual car sale sites in UK and Europe and have seen quite a few private and trade cars for sale but non with any upgrades!

What do you guys think? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A car like that here would probably fetch around £28k private sale in the UK including the upgrades.

Slightly more if it still has a BMW warranty running and probably £2k less in standard OEM form.

Thanks for your swift reply:thumbs:

Thats what io have seen as advertised with alot of UK cars. Its the rarity of NZ i suppose that i need to factor in as well. Otherwise simply just ship one out.

Surely must be quite a premium with them being so rare? Because of that, i would hope the modified car has all the OEM parts too...

Modified cars are only worth more if fully reversible IMO.

But how much would you think with these upgrades and OEM parts? Thanks

It's a hard thing to suggest a price, each car is different, if the condition is spot on and it has the service history to back it up and it drives perfectly it will be worth more than a car which isnt as good.

Also, if there are so few in NZ and they truly rarer than they are here, the price will be more than here.

If I was to buy a car with mods like you have suggested, I would expect the owner to have all of the OEM stuff as well.

It's a difficult question to answer, as said before a car like that here will fetch anything from £28k upwards I would have thought.

As Mark suggests, ask NZ_M3. He's very familiar with everything CSL, including diagnostics.

He's our CSL Register Antipodean Area Representative.;)

I don't know why but the CSL's seem to go for much less in the UK than in Germany. The few that come out for sale here in Sweden follow the German price levels.

LOL

I actually know the car and the owner you are refering to Jeremy - have PM'd you about it.

Correction on your local knowledge of official cars however. 10 official imports, 8 silver greys and 2 Sapphire Black (all consecutive chassis numbers) - 1 driver training car that was a pre production car from Germany - this was written off at Pukekohe by a BMW tech taking it for a joy ride/booty call. 1 Silver Grey car is in Police Impound (as it was part of the "Brown" P drug syndicate that you may have heard on the news - this car has sat idle in the Police lot for over 2.5 years and is suppose to come up for auction soon, as he's gone to Jail now). 2 cars are registered as tractors (it's a local way to avoid paying registration fee) - rumours are one is turned into a racecar owned by an Accountant - the other I believe has extensive damage from an accident (so I am told - this is a black car).

There are two to three private imports from the UK here - two in Auckland and one in the South Island.
