Guys

Matt from Tracktoys will be at the circuit on Sunday supporting Shimmy Racing and he has offered to do a pyro session with 4 CSLs (or other cars) whilst he is there to make it worth him coming.

Cost will be £30 each (if we get 4 ill get it down to £25) and will consist of taking hot tyre temps and pressures straight off track (even in the pit lane to get accurate readings) throughout the day.

Advice and adjusting pressures and camber (on top mounts only at track) but you will see the best set up for your car and the best advice on future geo that youve ever had.

Full print outs will be sent out after the event for your records.

Let me me know if you fancy being ahead of the bunch:smokin: (thank god Lawsy aint getting it!)

It basically optimises tyre pressures for geo settings, to get the optimum from your car.
As Shimmy will tell, an even tyre pressure all round is not always best, as different tyres take a harder pounding than others. So getting the temp as even as possible across the tyre is key to finding your optimum geo settings too.

If I was going I would 100% take Matt up on his offer,

when I went to cadwell some renault cup lads checked mine to get the cambers right (with Jims assistance), when we got the set up right and the temps were even the laps were :supz: massive difference when its spot on ;) better tyre wear as well

You know I'll be there so more than happy to stump up for a £30 slot, more out of interest than anything else :-)

Yep Matt def helped me out, we discovered ( read he discovered) that I need more camber on my passenger front, tyre pressures were checked and adjusted after every session:beer:

and now that they are cold they read like this

passenger front 25.5psi driver front 21.5 psi

passenger rear 21psi driver rear 27psi!

It was well worth the money, so thanks to shimmy for sorting this out:beer:

Its good to see matts adjustments evening the tyre temps out across the tyre as the day went on:beer: I look forward to his full report:smokin:

I also indulged myself again

We did 6 readings and as the day glt more aggressive as. Learnt the track Matt tinkered with the settings.

Once again we found the back pretty good and even temps but adjusted pressures a bit down. We might need some more camber both sides but I need to weigh up road tyre wear before changing.

Fronts were getting too hot left and temps were uneven. right side was showing to much camber at -2.75 so eventually we dropped the right side camber back to -2.25 and found the extra grip on the right mde the left col down and even up a bit and allowed us to drop the pressure there a bit as well.

Not sure on cold pressures but I'll check these tonight as I drove it home unchanged.

Thanks Matt as ever, tyre wear was even and smooth, no feathering or excessive rubber loss.

I wish I'd known about this stuff 3 years ago think it would have saved me £1000s in Cups.

For me Daz it works a bit for grip levels but also makes bloody sure that the Tyres last for as long as they can, and at £1200 a set that's gotta be good value

Deffo worth it, as tyres and pressures are the all important link between you and the road, would be nice to give it a go myself ..
