I can't get to grips with the lack of skill in RU these days.

I was sitting there thinking how good Tindall was performing then I realised he is just another blunderbuss, just totall absent of any skill level.

If they don't change the rules soon this game will die.

If they don't change the rules soon this game will die.hence the reason I retired from the game at my peak ... The skill level of everyone else around me wasn't the same as mine

I think if you changed skill for flair I'd agree with you:birdman:

the difference between 1st and 2nd halves was marked, making me think that england are just too well drilled they follow johnsons rules and do there own particular task - I think ashton is the revelation he is( poor game from him tho) because he has no union background

Unfortunately the really big crunch games between the real top 5 teams nearly always come down to a hard fought slugging match and flare goes out the window.

For flare and flowing rugby you need the other team to make mistakes/miss tackles, etc. The top teams are so good and close that just doesn't happen often enough. So, it's down to pure strength and fitness.

Doesn't make for exciting games but I still really enjoyed the match on Saturday. A real rugby heavyweight contest and a great win.:thumbs:Beating teams like this is what England needs going into a World Cup.
