Just bought an M3 csl. Not had a road car for a good ten years. Have a track car that I started to used again 18 mths ago and got the car bug again. The trouble with only having a track car is the inaccessability of a speed fix. A friend of mine deals in motors in a small way and had this csl for a few months, I know him well enough to know he dosen't buy crap and thats the extent of my research!
Have loads of paper work with the car, including invoices from somewhere called 'Thorney Motorsport' along with a dyno chart showing she makes 396bhp, not got her on the road yet or even had a proper drive. Looks good on paper and from the way my mate describes her I don't think I will be disappointed! Look forward to meet some of you soon.

It would appear from the paper work that its had head work and some fancy German Schrick cams, full milltek and SS manifold!? then custom mapped.

Do you think the csl will make an ideal road replacement?

It would be interesting to do a v box comparison on your car and standard car.
Say 30-130. See how much difference all these mods make in the real world.
Dynos can be deceiving

Its the second group A RS500 built by Andy Rouse Engineering in 1989 to compete in the British Touring car championship. Its in Kaliber liverey. Ive owned it since 1996 but never got to use it in anger till 2009 (don't ask....long story). I upset the RS history lovers
last year by fitting a six speed sequential box, but I still have the original box and its just a spanner job, but what the hell it makes it more fun, ringing its neck that is!

Good move to the csl but dont slap a supercharger in or you'll be going down the same route here ;)

You were doing approx 2 min laps in the RS, A little bit off the pace of the CSL @ oulton.
Looks like it had a little bit of grunt though:thumbs:
Welcome andyrousecar, be nice to see some pics of your new CSL  As said, 396bhp is big BHP for a CSL
Loving the 3dr, I used to know the guy who owned the 'Kaliber Press 3dr' that was used by the actual touring car team for promotional events/purposes back in the day! :smokin:
I take it you know a few others who own RS500 Touring Cars as well do you? ;)

Welcome fella. That RS looks very tasty! Love that era of BTCC. Epic cars and racing. Great memories for me. The first racing I ever saw live and the bug has never left.
Enjoy the CSL.
