Hi Guys,

I have had my CSL now for around a month and I would like to take out the Comprehensive Warranty with BMW as I want everything checked and replaced for my own peace of mind.

I can't seem to get a quote on the webby as it requires a pin, but is anyone else with BMW and how much do you pay? also do you know if the Steering Wheel is covered as mine seems to be shedding itself a bit.

Any advice would be great

Thanks
Thomas

Forgot to say the above prices are for those who are keeping their warranty for another year.If yours has lapsed and you wish to renew, it will cost more.Last year i took out a lapsed warranty and it cost me £1029 fully comp, under 60k miles and FBMWSH and £100 excess. This year i will go back to the above prices.I think you will find those that have a warranty will be with BMW,as i dont think the other companys are up to much.Hope this helps.;)

Steering wheel isn't warranty, its BMW Goodwill. And that seems to be running out :-D

You should be able to get a quote without a pin, I did on a few M5's I was looking at

What are the advantages of monthly over the annual fee?

Pip1968

None really as it is more expensive but some find it easier managing their money paying monthly. I think others have also noticed the over 60,000 miles premium slipping through the net ie they still pay the under 60k premium.

I rang BMW Warranty Services the other day to (somewhat optimistically) change my policy from a one-off payment to the monthly plan before the renewal date in April.

I was politely told that i cannot do such a thing! Whilst i was on the phone i enquired as to how much next year's premium would be...

£1900 :banghead: (>60k miles)

Guess i'll be 'warranty-less' from April...! :bigcry:

Thanks for the info chaps.

Well the Steering Wheel is the only part inside that needs replacing to be honest.

On the exterior I have noticed the black rail which is on each side of the carbon roof has started to lift a bit on the front passenger side. It's nothing drastic but could do with it being fixed, also the roof has a smallish chip in the laquer.

I have usually been well looked after at Sytner Sheffield, so will have to try my luck with the Wheel.

Is it worth going for the Comprehensive cover with it being my first year with the car? getting it booked into Sytner and have everything done if there is issues.

The car has full BMWSH but the last two were done at Indy's, however I am sure if they use Genuine BMW parts this should still be fine for BMW Warranty cover.

You'll probably find that is classed as a 'trim' item and therefore wont be covered under warranty...

Yup cleared it all Shimmy, I also mentioned that the last 2 schedules were completed at a non BMW garage but they used Genuine BMW parts as I have called them for clarification, and the guy I spoke to from BMW Warranty said it's fine aslong as the schedules are met.

That's without Emergency aswell, sorry forgot to add it.

I got a smashing deal from RAC for both myself and partner last week in Meadowhall so left it out.
