Alright lads

At the back end of last year I got my company website revamped for a more prof. look and for potential customers to land on / read about us / testimonials and even see past projects.

Im now in the process of getting enough 'likes' on facebook to then register a page on there - whether or not it'll bring any business I dont know, but its free.

Basically Im looking for you to visit the page and click 'Like' right at the top next to GroundsCo.. HERE (http://www.facebook.com/pages/GroundsCo/104546966280494)

Also, have a wee nosey at the official page - will help my search engine optimisation www.GroundsCo.co.uk

Thanks very much

Hi Bryce

a few tips since you mention SEO...

I notice you've got the site hosted in the US with ThePlanet. Thats not a good move for a site which is UK based, it will affect your SEO.

In case you think thats not the case, it appears you host with "Tense Internet" who go under the name of UK Cheapest. But the fact remains they are selling US hosting...

Its not a big deal but since you mentioned SEO I thought I'd point it out. You also don't appear to have heading tags (eg <H1>) which are also important. There's quite a few things you could do to boost your site's rankings but I guess it depends on how much traffic you want to attract.

cheers
Lee.

Hi Lee,

Couple of interesting point you've raised there.

Firstly, you are right that my hosting is with UKCheapest whom I thought was UK based and part of the reason I chose them.

Secondly, the designer/builder of my site told me he would do all the headers/tags etc (I don't fully understand it) for SEO which by the sounds of it he hasn't done.

So.. Do you recommend a UK host? As you'll can see I dont need much and only run a couple of email addresses from it. Also, do you know much about SEO and have any further tips to throw back at the builder. Looking for maximum traffic really to drow out competition.

Thanks very much
Bryce

Hiya

well I don't mean to drum up business, so i won't without first donating to the site ;-)

I know a reasonable amount about SEO, but most of it is just common sense if you are in the business.

cheers

Just got back from a weeklong business trip. Chuckled when I saw the edit ;-)

I did offer to host the site on a fast and reliable server but that was of no interest apparently ;-)

I'll go see that PM now...
