Curious if anyone here who uses the CSL on track a lot has stayed with the original calipers, upgraded to better pads and added cooling hoses? That's what I'm upgrading to now. I had problems with overheating discs/pads last year (Pagid RS29)

I reckon Magnust is Guate he just didn't want to own up to the fact he was wrong.

Magnust what circuit was you on to get the disc's that hot ?

I only know of race cars to have extra ducting for brake cooling

I am going to get some brake disks manufactured in bright red metal, they'll sell like hot cakes to people who want to look like they are on it during a trip to the shops.

Gaute's already been on me that I REALLY don't need any brake upgrade whatsoever :smt003

The pic is from Mantorp and to be honest I was very surprised with the temperatures I got. I've driven an M3 E36 3.2 for 10 years. It was over 250 kg heavier than the CSL but also slower... Its brakes got hot but not crazy like this.

I've ordered the TMS brake ducts that you fit on the spindle. Already have the air hoses which I bought from Tom Schirmer for some ridiculous price on impulse after he had a good laugh seeing my previous M3's sad looking blue and grooved brake disks on a visit to the Ring two or three years ago. Never got around mounting it on that car though, it really wasn't that necessary.

So no one here is running such a setup? I think it'll work well. I hope. :smt003

problem is if you are using it on the road you need to put steering stops in! If you do not you will turn your wheel too much and rip the pipes out or tear them.

So if you do put stops on you will not get full lock and your turn radius will dramatically increase.

Picture Austin Powers!

Any update on this?

I know alot of Evo guys used to run extra cooling with std Brembos with great results.

Depends onhow you drive, what one person wants maynot be enough or ott for the next. Brake ducts will help any heat issue of course but if the heat is very high then it will be a very small overall benefit, but if its cheap, why not?
