dunno who makes it yet, i asked my mate who is quite heavily involved in racing to speak to a few people about an exhaust for the csl, he just emailed me this today. i think its in germany as on one of the pics has a sticker with .de at the end. i've been calling my mate all day i cant get through. it will be available in the uk as matey wouldn't have sent it otherwise. he said its about 4000 euro for the whole system excluding headers.
it looks like only the back box is titanium and the rest is steel. meisterchaft centre pipes in titanium look quite tasty.
more importantly is 96db acceptable on uk tracks???????

Same exhaust, same car.
if it is the same exhaust why is the back box a totally different design? take a close look and then tell me its the same car, same exhaust.
the only similarity between the cars is they are both white.

Look mate, they sell the race exhaust and the lightweight. The pics you posted is the lightweight, also shown in the vids I posted. The one on their web page in left column is the race (shown for illustration). They dont have a pic of the lightweight on their website but if you go to lightweight soundclip, its taken from the Ring vid!

funny there are no photos of this apparent lightweight exhaust on the website, not very good marketing by titanauspuffanlagen. dont think you get much more lightweight than titanium.
anyway, i just spoke to my mate who sent me the pics. he said the pics he sent me are from g power in germany. he said maybe g power stole the design from titanauspuffanlagen but this is very very very unlikely. the car in the photo is a g power customer's car, who has just done the conversion which included a white wrap, blower and full bespoke exhaust, and the car has not even been delivered to the customer let alone been on the ring yet.
the prototype exhaust was only completed yesterday and put on the car.
so it looks like you are wrong mate.

it doesnt matter about any other links mate. it is a different exhaust my mate confirmed that for me along with the fact that all titanauspuffanlagen exhausts for the csl all have 76mm tips. and titanauspuffanlagen system is all in titanium, according to members here, whereas g power exhaust only back box is titanium and the rest is steel.

toofast you are here a few days but you are not listening members that are here for a few years and actually know a bit more than you.
So, twiti111 is a bloke from Germany, who is obviously passionate about M3s like us (real name is Markus).
He has a CSL and an M3 GTS.
He built a titanium exhaust for the CSL which he tried to sold here (http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5316&highlight=twitti&page=4)
Markus' exhaust is full titanium (I bet the catalyzers aren't but whatever...) and is really light.
You can see it here http://www.lightweight-titanauspuffanlagen.de/content/bmw_m3_46.htm
The CSL with the kinky stickers is his.
In my personal opinion the exhaust sounds like shit, but that's just my opinion.
I think the price tag was 3800 euros (I could be wrong) which is a bit expensive for non-branded, non-guaranteed exhaust (it can be the case that he gives a guarantee as an individual... go figure out).
I personally wanted to buy a titanium x-pipe as I have a SS backbox, but Markus will only sell a full system.
I guess g-power is getting Markus' exhaust and selling it.
If your friend doesn't know exact details, please don't insist...
As a nice tv advertisement was saying "better chew your gum, than speak".
Last but not least, there was speculation from member here and mate, that Akrapovic would make a titanium exhaust for the E46.
I haven't heard anything new.
A bit of history for you.
With love :smt055

so how do you explain the fact that the tips are different sizes?
my friend knows the exact details as he has a working relationship with g power. maybe g power is lying that they have just developed the prototype and that they even took the photo yesterday, but i very much doubt that as i dont see why they would lie.
my friend is a professional racing driver good enough to get sponsored to drive the not yet developed ferrari 458 gt3, he won the gt3 championship in the dbrs9, had a few seasons in the gt2 rsr and has done testing in lmp1. so when he talks about anything to do with cars it is pure fact, he doesnt speculate.
being part of this forum, one should not assume that they know more than others not on the forum or recently joined, perhaps they do but perhaps they dont. it is just narrow mindedness to assume one knows more than the next man. you said: 'you are not listening members that are here for a few years and actually know a bit more than you.' the operative word here is 'know', as they dont know, they assume it is the same exhaust as a result of a few similar recurring variables.
according to my friend who spoke to akrapovic directly, while akrapovic have not entirely ruled out the possibilty of making an exhaust for the e46 m3, they told him it is very very unlkely as the e46 is the old model now and there isn't a big enough market to produce it. they also added that they are far too busy with development for newer cars with much bigger markets to even consider producing an exhaust for the e46 m3 for the time being.

Quite, which is why the guy punting it all round here didn't sell any.
im not trying to sell any, im merely trying to get a general consensus of what people think.
i myself have had gruppe m titanium on my previous csls and i just found it too loud police can hear you coming from 10 miles away.
i have been looking for a special lightweight exhaust for about 7 years now and this is the first one that has really caught my attention. my criteria was i didnt want one too loud and for it not to have that horrible drone in low rpms.
im told that this exhaust is not too droney in low rpms and at 96db for the full system it doesnt seem to be too loud either.
i wanted to engage a discussion about what the db readings are for different exhausts and come to a conclusion as to whether or not it would be sensible to enquire further about the g power exhaust system.

It looks shit to me,
I had a nice ti exhaust on mine, the quality looked far far superior than that one.
A little tip,
I have messed about with different exhaust combos.
The best sound IMO was 100 cell race cats with standard back box.
If its just sound you want, try this.
If it's for weight saving to make you faster, save your money and buy some tuition, money far better spent.

you guys are the strangest bunch of csl enthusiasts.
a new product comes out onto the market, and you are so quick to dismiss it without any kind of analysis. unbelievable.
i dont know about you guys but as a long term csl owner, there is yet to be an exhaust to be produced on the market that meets my stringent criteria- to be lightweight, efficient, add power and not be too loud (the biggest problem if you want a lightweight ti exhaust).
matey has spoken to g power today, and i can confirm that markus is not the owner of the csl in question, and the owner of the csl in question does not own an m3 gts. g power have also said that they can provide cad cam images showing the development process of their new exhaust system. they will get a video of the new exhaust and send it to me, and perhaps it will sound different to markus's exhaust. it is snowing at the moment in germany so they wont do a vid until the weather improves.
it is evident that you people dont care about a new product on the market that will potentially be an excellent viable option for an exhaust upgrade, but once i have the vids i will post them, and perhaps then you will change your tone (or perhaps you wont if it is shit, and believe me if it is shit i'll be the first one to admit it).

It is far too expensive IMO.
If akropovic dont make one does that not tell you there is not much market for one.
Exhausts tend not to net any real gains on the CSL/M3.
Most want a lighter/better sounding exhaust, YES
But for me 4000 euro for a bit lighter and better noise, but no considerable gains is a no no.
For fucks sake most of the CSL owners on here, wont spend 1100 on a decent back box and wait yrs for a 2nd hand one to come on the market:hahaha:, never mind nearly 4k.
For 4k I would want at least 40bhp from an exhaust, not 7-10bhp

For 4k I would want at least 40bhp from an exhaust, not 7-10bhp
fair enough mate, for me its about having the best csl i can have as i never intend to sell it. getting 10bhp (optimistic and something you will only really notice top end), saving 21.6kg, better throttle response, improved breathing and a better sound at 96db is an interesting prospect for me.
10bhp might not seem like a lot but together with 21.6 kg weight loss, improves the power to weight ratio from 259bhp/ton to roughly 271bhp/ton assuming a standard kerb weight of 1385kg. part of the fun of tuning na cars is making small power gains and small changes and seeing/feeling the difference they make in the overall performance and drive of the car.
also 4k euro is for the full system from the factory headers. supersprint is 3200 gbp for the same system if memory serves me correct. so it is pretty much the same price as the ss system, perhaps a few hundred quid more if that.
for any amount of money you will never get an exhaust system that can develop 40bhp from a straight 6.

Is your mate Markus or do you have connections in g power ?
I have to inform you that you are not the only one keeping the CSL for ever and you won't be able to make the best CSL ever, simply because it already exists and it's called CSL loaded.

hahaha, no i do not have any affiliation to markus or g power. im just an enthusiast whom has found a new product and wanted to share the discovery with fellow enthusiasts.
please read more carefully, i said i would like to have the best csl i can have, not the best csl ever in the world, there is a subtle difference. in no way did i ever imply that i am the only person keeping the csl, merely that i am one csl owner that never intends to part with his beloved machine. such statements would be childish and im surprised you have interpreted them in that way.
regarding the loaded car, records are made to be broken.....

For fucks sake.....has this thread really gone on for 8 pages? For a fuckin exhaust debate ? Seriously ? I thought the 6 page wheel size thread was bad enough. Can we either move on to a more interesting topic or toofastforyou, pls do us a favour and sod off and buy a gt3rs or something that will not need us to worry about saving 2kg on an exhaust and three one hundreths off the lap time at Spa OR WOTEVER. Can we have some fun threads again PLEASE

That design of exhaust has been around yonks, look at a Supersprint Lightweight its the same two box design, albeit in stainless rather than a ti / stainless mix, since copied by Agency Power and that other one with Ti tips Megan Racing which can be had for $400 usd! 4k € is bonkers for something that doesnt look that radical imho

I now have a supersprint system on mine. I left the headers alone and replaced center with twin sports cats and the lightweight backbox.
Its certainly louder than before, just hope I don't get into trouble with the noise gestapo on trackdays...
