Hi

Just registered with the site as I figured this was the most sensible place to ask this question. Currently drive a Z4M and have been looking at getting some CSL rims in the spring.

With so many replicas being sold, I wondered if there is a sure fire way to recognising a genuine set?

Many thanks in advance.

Although alot of the companies making the reps are putting the part numbers on the front of the wheel, I don't think they are stamping 'BBS' into the back on the hub of the wheel. I don't they're allowed to, to be honest. There's probably a load more tell tale signs but this is the only one I can think of for now. We're a friendly community so no doubt others will be along soon to help.

Welcome BTW

Appreciate the picture, cheers.

I have seen BBS reps with BBS stamps on the rear, but hopefully with that picture I should be able to pick out a decent set. A couple on PH at the moment.

Read several threads now where people have fitted CSL reps to Z4Ms and it's stuffed the handling, so going to hold out for the (lighter) real thing.

Thing is Roland, even the Replicas have these numbers on them now. Some replicas look really well!

These are one set I've seen. The guy is taking some close ups today and some of the rear stamps for me.

Had a reply on the Z4 forum, with some useful info. Thought I'd share it here as well.

The one above look very convincing, I have to admit. BBS on the back? That thread on the Z4 is very good also, your man knows his RIMS! ;-)

Maybe we should copy and paste it on here,

On the front of the wheel round the hub you can see 5 sets of letters/numbers. Reps only have 4 sets of letters/numbers. Plus the BBS thing mentioned above. Whe I sold a set i listed the part numbers

EDIT:

Here are the numbers from the wheels

Front Wheels: 2282 999 and 91/2J x 19

Rear Wheels: 2282 650 and 81/2J x 19

Thanks for the post. Looking for a new set myself. Suppose you can't go wrong by ordering them through the dealer?

Full set or originals cost approx 1750 incl VAT from main dealer minus whatever discount you can negotiate.

I appreciate that. I zoomed in and those part numbers match those on the wheels as well.
