good to meet you today Vic, bit of a surprise to be jumped on at Clacket Lane whilst i was cuddling Yanto, but shows you are keen to get the forum low down on any potential future purchase,;)
hope your search is fruitful and get sorted for 6th March at Snetterton , i hope you find it as much fun as your old E9 CSL.
If not youll get some business fixing our boilers anyway!:smokin:

It will be interesting to see what it goes for. I have always reckoned on about £30k as a fair price for mine - although it is not for sale. I have about 28,500 miles on the clock and APs and Turner top mounts so probably £31k keeping all the bits on.
Best of luck with the sale.

OK - sorry to say the car has gone to a dealership - I'll still be popping in, but if someone wants a nice straight SB one (albeit now for a higher price) check out AUC in a few days.

It was fair, and worth it to save the rest of the aggro of hanging on - and was also more than a couple of the private offers I'd had...
I've got a plaque still which will return £150 at some point, will get the tax back, and there may be some upside potential too depending on the final price it sells for. Still - shame I couldn't pass on to anyone here.
Have a pair of CSL Reg plates I can sell in case any other recent new buyers want some?

what did you trade it in for?
Replaced it for now with an R32 DSG in early December - came in very handy when the snow came a callin'. It's very competent, but will never deliver the same experience.

Nice choice of new Steed, there's at least one lad who has one on here, and at least another who's thinking about one. Any photos?

Piccies as requested. These were the for sale ones obviously - one bumper scuff to sort at some point, but otherwise has most of the boxes ticked

It was on a '58 (Nov), one previous owner, 21k on the clock, recent service last summer, a year left on the warranty.
The chap got a few £k off list as they were selling them cheaper at the time, in the height of the recession.
I paid a shade over £17k - though had to change front tyres already. Looked good value with all the toys on it (also has 6CD, Aux-In port, Tracker and Parrot).

Looks like just the tool mate, I've always like these. Thought the Mk4's looked mean when they first come out, Mk5 a bit more tame... civilised shall we say.
There's loads of Diesel Golfs running around NI with R32 Bodykits on them, exhaust conversions and all. All with Stupid squeaky dump valves.

:hahaha::hahaha:
was on the r32 owners club forum, there are some nice turbo conversions for it too, 575 bhp from hpa (looks like the most reputable tuner) and even a 650bhp conversion from jbs. with the 650 conversion jbs claim 0-60 in 3.1 secs! definitely something to consider in the future!
now before i get shot down for promoting r32s and accused of being on the above mentioned tuner's books, i'd like to add that i would never swap it for my csl, not that there is anything wrong with that, as jeffers has done. coincidentally, jeffers if you want to get rid of it soon let me know, been looking on the market and that looks like it is really a fantastic example with all the toys. and again, i will still be keeping my csl.
