The seat in my car has been raised by the previous owner by putting a spacer under the runner that bolts to the floor to raise the rear of the seat. Do these bolts have a nut on the bottom of them or are they in to a bush in the shell?

I'm assuming that its not standard as the passenger seat runners sit on the floor.

The nuts are welded to the chassis so you can undo the bolts no probs.

When I first got my CSL, I was happy enough with the seat position until one day, a year or so later I sat in the passenger side and thought it was better!!! I proceeded to whip the seat out and have a footer with it. It's now perfect for me and just wish I'd adjusted it before.

Remember it can recline/tilt a little too, and drop even further. Welcome BTW

Is 5ft 2 and 3/4 a midget status?

Have never adjusted the seat in the CSL so not sure if it is on "midget" mode or not ;)

Be careful when removing/replacing seats, the fixing bolts are single use only (for safety) so you will need to replace them. You can re-use them of course if you're careful but BMW dont recommend it.

BMW probably does this out of liability concerns more than anything else.

I agree that the nut should be replaced as it has a built in lock washer on it that deforms when tightened to 33lb/ft but the rear bolt (together with the front nut) are 10.9 grade, highly doubt there's going to be any stretching going on with such minor torque on it.

But then again the nuts and bolts are about 4 euro to buy (all together), so for a piece of mind, why not
