I was washing the car this morning and a chap in a satellite van pulled up to have a chat. He has a black CSL which he loves to death but last weekend he had 130mph off at the ring :smt103 Ouch :119: hats must have hurt. Hit hit the front end and clipped the back. He managed to patch the car up at one of the local garages to bring it home...had to have a normal M3 bumper etc.......told him to get himself on here so he can tell us the full story and maybe with pics....

From what he I can gather he would normaly run Cups or the like for track days but put coopers on the car and these were not up to the jobs. Couldn't keep the car on the road at high speed.

I think he was there with Circuit Days, I was talking with Chris and he said they lost two cars a CSL and I think the other was a 911.

They are quite fair with the crash barrier costs, good friend of mine hit the barrier last time we were there and they only charged him 2850 euro for 32m of barrier and 8 posts.

I just hope that the car can be repaired, and back on the road sooner of later... :banghead:

He did say that it was repairable. He said he just wants to :bigcry: everytime he looks at it at the moment. He only lives around 20miles from me so will try and catch up with him if possible to see how it's going.

Hi glendog,
Was it you I was speaking to in the car park on Sunday?
How did you get on during your 2 days at the Ring?

I was gutted to find out a Veyron turned up 1 hour after I left on the Sunday. The next day Black Falcon brought down some very cheap cars. An Enzo, a Carrera GT, a Maserati MC12 and a Koennigsegg.

Hi MaKSiNG - yeah that was me, i was hoping you might be there the next day as the weather was good with only one 30min closure all day! I did 16 laps in the end and felt a lot more comfortable on the Sunday and was harrassing Porsches nicely! My rear PS2s have seen better times though!!!

I saw all those cars - lovely! The Enzo was on track also as well as a Lambo Gallardo Super Leggera - which sounded awesome!

I'm certainly hooked - as you said on the Saturday, lol!

I was at the ring for the first time a few weeks ago and lost the back end in the wet at Hatzenbach. I managed to touch the armco and clip my rear quarter. As I was 'taking instruction' at the time the third party rang up the armco police who charged a call out fee ~£50-100 (I do not rightly remember the exact amount). There was no damage to the armco but some expensive repairs have just been completed by BMW.

I too cried at the damage and it was the only thing that ruined the four day trip. The second day it was warm and dry on track and so was ideal.

The small morale booster was hearing some small boy on the balcony at the ring cafe saying "Look daddy a CSL".

Small things.

Pip
