I had fitted last week some brand new pilot sport 2's to the front and rear and for some reason they seem to have less grip than the budget brand that were previously fitted???
These have cost me nearly £900 for the lot, spending that I expected them to stick like glue!!!
What's the crack?

New Tyres are slippy until scrubbed in.
Plus it's cold and they need some heat to grip.

They need 200 miles to scrub in and they wil be fine. They are ok winter tyes but not the beast for winter rain.
Give it some beans;)

Ok so we have 3 - 7 degrees temperatures and people are complaining a summer tyre has not much grip in these temperatures and weather conditions? :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha:

Wimp, real men don't need tread ;)
On a serious note, as others have said the Pilot Sport 2's aren't the best in the cold, and in my experience need a longer than average amount of time to run in so they won't be performing optimally yet.
Once you get them on a warm(ish) dry day you'll know you made the right choice, the steering feel is sublime.

A bit harsh calling Duncan a wimp on your first post, nice introduction! :hahaha:

All in good humour (i hope!)
Interestingly Michelin have just launched the replacement the Pilot Sport 2 (it wasn't the Pilot Sport 3), it's the Michelin Pilot Super Sport (http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Is-the-Michelin-Pilot-Sport-about-to-get-Super.htm).
Initial reports from the launch see Michelin claiming it's both better in the wet than the PS2 and 5 seconds faster over a 2.1 mile dry lap.
If these can be proven independently I can't think of a more perfect tyre for the CSL.
Now I just have to get a decent car (I'm in the process of picking between a CSL / e90 M3 / M6)
Yes of course! ;)
I'm looking for some Michelins at the moment in 18", where did you get yours Shane?

Slight departure from the Michelins - Anyone tried the Advan AD08 or Bridgestone RE-11 on the track?
