It appears my (OEM) back box is cracked around where the pipes go into the silencer. I haven't had a look yet but this was what Murketts told me when they did my Insp II (ouch!).
Does anyone have any feedback on the Supersprint Lightweight? I am considering fitting just the back box to my otherwise OEM system. First of all does it fit and second, what's the noise like? I don't tend to track my car and use it as a daily driver. I love the noise of the standard system when it gets going and I don't want anything too boomy or too loud overall.
What do you reckon?

No warranty? That should be covered under it if you have.
AS far as the SS system is concerned, yes it does fit the standard CSL Midpipe and it sounds fantastic. I am thinking about one myself so any input regarding the above would be great for me too.

Depends if you mean SS race lightweight or just SS lightweight
Race Lt is not boomy or dtpney but quite loud. I don't know but I guess Lt is a little less loud.
SS Race Lt is a better reseller so it will prob cost you less over ownership. I like the Race Lt and mine wil go back on after next oil service ;)

Bayz,
I do have the extended warranty. They didn't seem to think that it would be covered though. Strange as they have just fitted new rear screen, rear subframe bushes and a PAS pipe with no quibbles.
Perhaps I should press them re the exhaust.
Thanks for your responses chaps.

I would just have bought it and had the last year of nice noise, than be a tight arse and wait a yr. :birdman::gayfight::gayfight:

Trust me, the saving was worth the wait as I paid less for my NEW SS RL then most pay for it second hand
Tight Arse ?!?! ... sounds like a compliment coming form you Big Boy :gayfight: :blalalala:
Shim, what's the score with going for a service with a ss b'box fitted? Got insp 2 coming up and wondering if I should revert to oem. Got full bm warranty (£100 excess).

I never bothered to swap out anything a/m unless it could be a direct contributory factor to the problem I was asking BMW to look at.
Ie if you were getting them o look for subframe cracks take out suspension, steering put back OEM rims.
Fit a service you might find sone dealers might make a note of any a/m bits and that may work against you later but most don't and ones we use certainly don't otherwise they would get no warranty work.
Exhaust us the least worrying as they would have a hard job proving it affects any warranty claim.
Leave it on would be my move.
