Anyone have one, or know someone that might have one lying around so to speak. Long shot I know!
I am after the MSS54HP one, needs to be out of a CSL though not a standard M3.

How much do they go for? Wonder how much effort to stick a MoTeC in mine...
Are they different to normal M3 ECUs then? I thought they were the same as the post 2005 models?

Apparently 2nd hand ones are only about 250? I believe they are different to the standard later M3 MSS54HP ones so I have been told. Different part numbers on realoem as well?
I would have bought a CSL but didn t want to ruin a fantastic car so thought I would ruin a normal M3 instead! haha:thumbs:

Just spoke to BMW, new CSL ecu is 600 quid. Both CSL and standard M3 are the same price.

The gearbox cost was the one that really put me off, the rest isn't too bad!

What about an xtrack or are they even more expensive?
_Nathan_

Very expensive indeed, e92 gt2 runs an xtrac transaxle (gearbox at back of car instead of normal place) bet that isn't cheap! Have a friend who works there, pretty easy to spunk 25k on a box from there but they have some clever tech, zero torque interruption! Drenth is cheap at about 10k.

All 2004 + M3s come with MSS54HP which has 25% more memory compared to previous M3s.

Yeah I realise this, but mine is not a +2004 and the CSL one is different, well at least they are different part numbers anyway. Even if they are both labelled MSS54HP. They also work a lot faster as well.

I think the part numbers may be to do with the CSL \ CS version having an extra pin for the M Track input?

Yes this could be true. I am not sure why the part numbers are different could be that they have different maps loaded onto them? ie one for CSL, one for CS and one for standard M3. But not sure tbh.
Or could be that they have extra wiring. I am not even sure if the pin outs are the same on the MSS54 and the MSS54HP.

they are numbered different just to make M3 owners feel inferior :birdman:
