Some help needed regarding which service my CSL now needs.

It's only covered 3000 miles from new and had it's 1200 mile service 2.5 years ago. I have spoke to 2 different dealers and got conflicting advice. One suggested an oil service at £220 inc vat while the other suggested an inspection 2 at around £1000 inc vat. Who is right here??

If it's just had the 1200 mile service in 6 years, albeit only 2 1/2 years ago, it wouldn't have been service in the first 4-5 years of ownership. Despite the Service book advising that it should be serviced as per the mileage indicator or 2 years, whichever is soonest.

Going on what the schedule is, it only needs an Oil Service. This could be an interesting topic.

For me it would be the full bifta.

Got to be worth getting everything checked / replaced as things deteriorate over time like rubbers / seals etc.

I think this question came up on M3 Torque with the poster having written to BMW about it. I have to say that I am interested in the official answer as I only cover 2-3,000 miles a year.

I am not sure what Mondial would say with reference to the insured warranty.

As far as warranty is concerned, the service book states that cars with a low annual mileage should have an oil change every 2 years due to ageing. I would have to question why they think you need the valve clearances checking, etc etc

I'd agree with this, can't see why it would need the full monty... service it as per the normal routine IMHO.

Just spoke to BMW Customer Service today and they said the car would require a major service!

Thanks to everyone for your comments.

Well they would!

Obviously won't do any harm, I have however looked at BMW's in the past that have had the servicing done in a strange order and to be honest it put me off (as I thought the dealer/owner can't have known what they were doing)
