Sorry if this has been done to death but I really need quick 2 265/30/19 and wanting michelin pilot sports not cups.

The best price I've found so far is £577 from kwik fit.

Just wondered if anyone knows anywhere cheaper?

Thanks.

Yes mate, think they wanted £555 for just the 2 tyres with no fitting.

Online price for PS2 from KF is nearly £278 each fitted so £555 fitted for a pair. These have gone up around £100 for 4 in the last 12 months.

If your budget don't stretch get 2 rear Falkens for £140 each from Elite Direct. You will loose a little dry weather grip but wet weather is as god if not bette than PS2. I'm a Michelin fan on the CSL but for a £500 saving I might be knocking on the Falken door soon.

Just looking at the falcon's and camskill can do 2 x 235/35/19 and 2 x 265/30/19 for £443.16 delivered.

I might sell the PS2's for the front when they come and buy 4 falcons :smokin:

Just paid 620 for pair of Rear Pilot Sport's so your 577 is not too shabby!

I reckon thats bollox shimmy;):blalalala:,

I found the falkens lacking in the wet/cold in comparison with PS2's. They are acceptable for commute, good for occasional blat, but not better than PS2 in any condition. Thats 100% certain.

They cost half as much but give 3/4 of the performance IMO.

Perfect for winter road driving for the more discerning gentleman though.
And were perfect for me for summer driving too. And for me were more of a comparison in the dry to PS2's,
I used the falken to gain a great feel for the cars handling on the limit, wet industrial estates were perfect. I am in no doubt this helped with my on the limit handling on track too.

I just ran falken on road tyres and a048 to and from track, a048 rain or shine, no pussy changing to road tyres for wet track day.

My view is soley aimed at road driving not track driving.

If going on track, the falken will show its limits far quicker, and the gap between the 2 will clearly show, wet or dry.

i am a believer in getting the best tyres you can and i think that it is pointless buying a good fast car and getting crappy tyres as you might as well buy a cheaper car and better tyres BUT if you have the car and need a deal ive seen Bealo on the road and at Snett on Falcons and apart from at the limit of grip they are pretty good. He hasnt crashed and the tyres still work and i tend not to race on roads too much now im getting on a bit:smokin:

I am the same as you Shimmy, you hit the nail on the head.

For commuting and "fast" road driving the falkens are adequate, just tread carefully in damp cold wet conditions, not as sure footed. Not bad, just not great, but well well worth their money.

I run them on my C class, perfect for the work commute.

although Falcons on the back and PS2 on the front is one way of dialing out that CSL understeer :smokin:

(Shane - thanks for closing the thread on M3C, although i thought it was 50/50 on posts.............. and we are a bit snobby, probably coz we are a bit older, wiser and more miserable!)

Seems to be a lot of stupid threads going on at the moment over there, Shane.

Reinforcing Clarksons claim that BMW M3 drivers are wankers. ;)

Shame as there are some good guys on there too.
