Sorry, I know it is in the wrong area but I am after a quick response. I have just dropped off my CSL at the dealer for an oil service and they said the brake fluid needed doing too. They will only renew with OEM BMW (apparently 5.1) fluid is this sufficient for track use or should I just get someone else to replace the fluid with AP fluid?
Thank you in advance.

My dealer used whatever fluid I supplied. You need a dealer to do it for the stamp so if they won't budge get it done and change it yourself later?

Yes, I have a BMW warranty so need the dealer to do it but may try and pop in before they do it with some other fluid. From the replies I take it the OEM stuff is not advisable for the AP set up.
I will have to pop into Halfords as I am due to fly out of country tomorrow afternoon. Any advice on what to look for? Will they have ATE?

So have i - i haven't had a dealer do mine since fitting the APs 2 years ago and have had 3 fluid changes in that time and ensured that the brake fluid advisory indicator was reset. I use DOT 4 fluid.

Actually I meant the oil service Glendog but thanks to all anyway. Dot 4 seems to be the DS solution.

Oh well service have 'changed their mind'. Initially it was "It will cost a little more than a normal brake fluid change" to which I said do not worry crack on and then the bleeding system was full of Dot 5.1 so they could not really do it. I did initially say to the service advisor that I had heard some dealers would not do a brake fluid change because of the non OEM set up.
Hey ho is it really more difficult to bleed an AP set up.

Nope - they're just being anal.
My car had an MOT fail due to slight fluid weeping from a bleed nipple and a couple of banjo bolts.
BMW wouldn't touch them and recommended i take it to an AP brakes 'expert' to sort... :banghead:
I drove home and check tightened them all with a torque wrench to the recommended settings. It passed it's MOT the following week.
