View Full Version : 2011 BIG Event's

I've been having a think (which is dangerous enough in itself! :hahaha:) about some of the larger Motorsport event's going on next year, both in the UK and on the continent and which ones might be a good laugh to make some more CSL Register trips to!

The main one's I can come up with at the moment are:

24Hr Le Mans
24Hr Nurburgring
Britcar 24Hr and/or 1000KM at Silverstone
Goodwood Festival of Speed
Spa 24Hr and/or 1000KM at Spa
WRC Wales Rally GB
Brighton Speed Trials

Other event's/races which I think would be good to go to would be some CSL Cup races, maybe some BTCC at Brands & Donnington and as per Yanto's thread a few Destination Nurburgring Days.

If anyone else has any suggestions then feel free to say so and I'll add them to the list.

So who's up for what then!?

Mate, that's just my opinion.
I like to drive-experience and not watch.
I don't mean to drive the 24H Le-mans race, but I prefer to spend this money on a track day where I can drive and not sit there watch like an idiot racing cars passing by and I am scratching my balls.

That's my opinion of course and I respect the 'spectators'.
I am with the drivers  (35k km in 2 years in the CSL while I own 2 other cars for everyday driving....)

I will be at the 24hr burger ring event :smokin:

And if the winter work comes good partaking in the Britcar ( inc the 24hr event ) watch this space, working on a deal with sponsors and few bits and bobs for next season return to the sack ;-)

These are just events to attend, the pleasure will be using the CSL to get there! ;)

I as everyone else will be doing their own trackdays and ring trips next year as usual, of that I'm sure!

It's not all about caining the CSL every second you can, the Le Mans 24hr is something special and the atmosphere is amazing, I'll be going back whatever! If the Ring 24hr is the same then spot on! :smokin:

Daz, I'm in with Matt and one of two others for the Ring 24hr so can sort something for this! Nice one on Britcar too! :supz:

Mixing it in between track days, racing? who knows, euro trips...

And the best one yet, Im gonna be a daddy again next yr. Bambino no 2 is on the way:beer::beer:

Some good suggestions there mate, I really must make the effort with the F1 some day soon! Silverstone is pretty close and there's still a few good EU races in the calendar too! Moto GP is a must, just to see Rossi on a Ducati next year! :supz: :smokin:

Congrats on the baby news mate, chuffed for you!

I've never done Le Mans 24hr, but would like to.

I always do a MotoGP and next year def gonna be Italy, Misano or Mugello, with Rossi on a red bike.

I've done a few F1 races abroad but never really had a real fun day, just and experience worth having, although I recommend Monza.

Over the years done various World and British Superbike rounds but currently out of live with them.

I think 2011 I'll be up for MotoGp in Italy, a few Euro trips in the CSL, Goodwood FOS, and then if o can afford it my ARDS and maybe 1-2 races. The rest of the time I'll be helping the TWB race team and my brother in his Caterham Races.

it would be good to watch a moto GP race in Spain do 1 or 2 track days whilst down there and drive back through France Millau Bridge, Gorges of the Tarn , Valley of the Ardeshe, Mont ventoux , Route Napolean and back up for a cheeky lap of the Ring :smokin:

Yep, ferry to Santander, drive down to Portimao for TD, MotoGP at Jerez (which is superb), TD at Ascari or Aragon then a drive up to the Ring?

Now we're talking! That would be ace. Could stop off and over night at my parents place in Ardeshe if you like. Their place is on route from Millau @Tournon-sur-Rhone. Sleeps 8-10 people if that suits.:smokin: There are stunning roads from Millau to their place. Then Mount Ventoux and Route Napolean starts not far south from them.;) It's a perfect days drive down to MC.

OK, I guess we need to work out what MotoGP event we want to attend. Provisional 2011 calender is out. Maybe a venue in Northern Spain might be more doable? It's a great idea to go Jerez but one hell of a road trip down from Santander/Bilbao and then back up into France, then Ring!

They have 3 races in Spain next year. Jerez, Catalunya and Aragon.

Aragon is brand new isn't it, literally? Would be nice to visit there although I personally have no idea of whereabouts it is in Spain?

Barcelona I've done but wouldn't recommend it as no real race or after race atmosphere other than usual Barca stuff which you can do anytime.

Jerez I've done and was epic and the whole town goes bonkers with 200,000 visitors. Street parties for 3 nights, bars set up outside every shop and great weather.

Not sure about Aragon but maybe worth a try but need to stay with the race fans to get the most out of it.
