View Full Version : Destination Nurburgring 2011 ??

Talked very briefly about this with Mole (ages ago) and Glendog (at Silverstone)...

I dont intend on doing a TF due to the variables, but I do fancy a proper run at the Ring with no dickheads and insured (assume this can be had since this is an organised event). Doubt it'll be cheap but multiple lapping could make it value for money.

Really enjoyed the Ring/Spa trip this year..

Any more prelim interest out there ??

The last two were great :)

There'll be around 5 DN events next year, I expect the price will be the same , around £500.

I know I flippin love it there- I need to try your line thru the shell hairpin as I reckon I lose a bit of time there.....

Which lines that Jim, its different every fuckin lap:hahaha:

Cadwell was good, I reckon the MK would shine there, I was losing too much time in the tighter slower corners in the CSL, the Mk seems to have more get up and go out the corners.

Yep the mk(maniacs kar???) should thrive at cadwell with all those fast corners

read the small print, the moris policy is not as good as some others out there. Most policies only cover you for impact related loss.

Best I found was richard egger who also cover you for non-impact related loss eg catching fire

CCI don't cover the nordschleife (even on a closed trackday) - just the GP.

Can't think why, slow track, plenty of runoff, small number of corners to learn, seems the ideal place for learning :D

I'm sure some of you will have received this, but in case you haven't:

"Hi
I hope you all had a great winter and are now, like me, looking forward to the coming season.
As a valued customer and friend I have some news for you regarding our 2011 track days at the Nürburgring.
We are working on provisional dates as follows;
Wednesday April 20th 8am to 5pm
Thursday April 21st 8am to 2pm

Obviously - these are the two days immediately before the madness of the Easter Touristenfahrten, so they present a really great opportunity to get lots of perfect laps in before relaxing and socialising with the crowds arriving for the weekend.
then;
Monday July 18th 8am - 5pm
Tuesday July 19th 8am to 5pm
with a full day of Touristenfahrten scheduled for Sunday 17th July.
So - this is what I'm working towards, as soon as I'm happy it's all confirmed I'll write to you again.
Any queries - call me on +44 (0)131 20832 66 or email as usual at darren@ringweekends.co.uk (darren@ringweekends.co.uk)

Accommodation booked for April. Party so far includes my CSL, an E36 M3 Evo, an E36 M3. Yet to confirm are a 964 Carrera 4, a very special new shape XKR and possibly another E36 M3.

Probably going to do Spa on the Monday and The Ring on the Wednesday. Probably won't bother with the half day on the Thursday.

yep the date has been moved on the cd website too,

is it cheaper to go for the cd package ( with uk day thrown in) or dest.nurburg?

So does it look like both parties are going together?

Be good to have a good gtg again

It looks like both the destination nurburgring and circuit days are both on the 17th to 19th July- according to both sites anyhow.

I and 4/5 others are booked on the circuit days trip,

This is more appealing to me givin the distance from NE Scotland so as soon as booking is available i'll get it booked up.

I'm going from Newcastle this year but you also have the option of Hull.

It is all systems go but probably the big marketing push will come in a few days, once the documents are in the hands of GmbH. So you're right that the website is now taking bookings, it's just not been 'officially' launched as 100% confirmed.

Pace Ward
Richard Eggar
MORIS

MORIS tends to be cheapest but I believe covers impact damage only. So if you catch fire in the pits you get nothing. I've generally used RichardEggar as catching fire in the evo with 15 litres of oil going round the car is a possibility.
