how about a on track CSL comparison!
we take 6 CSLs, all with different set ups, and 6 owner drivers.
book a trackday (say Bedford) in Spring time next year and we all drive each car, flat out, once in the morning and once in the afternoon for say 6-8 laps, trying to set the best laptimes but either way running Vbox/Perf Box GPS data logging.
And find out which car (maybe driver as well) is the best set up, modded, oem etc etc
You bend it, you mend it, or you donate your CSL to the offended party!
Volunteers here please, but final choices will have to be made based on car/set up/mods (and how annoying, trustworthy they are)

Can you mention it to all the participating suspension manufacturers (Intrax,Nitron,KW,AST etc) and get them to send out their best pit crew Techis. They can help battle it out and tweek our cars while we watch from the line!?

got a feeling that'll be a bit too complicated, and there wont be enough time to play with it whilst we are driving with oen morning and one afternoon session each
best bet is to get set ups done before and make sure we know what they are and that they work with the car mods, then get Matt of Tracktoys down to help tyre pressures and odds and sods with adjustable suspension changes (and the odd breakdown!)
we could have NUMBERS

As much as I like the sound of it, I'm not sure my balls are big enough!
I think I'd be far too nervous pushing someone elses car to try and get a quick lap time. I know I couldn't afford to fix it or replace it if I did have a big accident.
I'd be up for doing the trackday though, and letting someone like yourself have a few laps in mine just so there is some sort of comparison.

I'm well up for a big deployment of CSLs at a trackday and would naturally wish to attend.
Can't see the idea of driving each others cars though. Can certainly see it going wrong ;-)
I was at snetterton yesterday with mine - UB was there with his CS/CSL project - the cars are completely different purely down to the tyres. Whilst he was smoking round on R888s I was constantly having to deal (and fail in some cases) with a very loose rear end. And the car ;-)
Its almost like control tyres are designed for a reason ;-)

what tyres you on titan (what do you mean by control tyres)?
(as for things going wrong, easy fix as we all have CSLs so no need fopr it to get nasty:thumbs:)

Brian went for the european stretched look ;-)
Currently got 225 front and 255 rear conti sports on the CSL wheels.
I have a set of cups in the garage though :smt077
My point about the control tyre is that from what you are saying, you'd like to arrive at a conclusion to what mods work well, but if there is a massive range of tyres being used its an unfair comparison.
Would still be ace to rock up with a bunch of CSLs on a trackday though :)

Agree about the difference in Tyres but I think you'll find that we all mainly use Cups as our control tyre which if you keep at the right pressure and don't overheat are the best road Tyres available.
If Mattcslnut hoping in we may have a set of lardy Dunlops to compare with.

I think a TD followed/preceeded by an evening meal and night (out would be a good start to spring 2011. We could do Snetterton or alternatively it might be safer at Bedford autodrome depending upon noise (anybody had any problems).
