Don't know the car but for someone who hasn't been on the forum for a couple of days, I sure feel like a stranger.

All these Ex-Cosworth owners? Welcome! I will need to get settled down and stay out the pub. (He says, sitting on the Train to a can (or two) of Stella. sometimes, (Bealo will understand) I love my job!

I believe this is danr55's car, or now old car, didn't realise he'd sold it though!

It was lovely and clean at the Brands track evening earlier in the year, here's a quick pic of it next to mine..

Steve,

I went to their old premises when looking for a CSL to buy in early 2008. It was the worst buying experience i have ever had. :bigcry:

They dicked me about with viewing times as it turned out one of their sales team was using the car that was being offered for sale... Bear in mind i was driving up from Cornwall to view the car in Yorkshire! I was half way on my way up when they rang to change our agreed viewing time due to the car not being there as it had 'yet to be dropped off by the selling customer'. Later it actually transpired that the car was being used as a runaround by the garage sales manager who had gone out for the day...!

On arrival at my pre-booked viewing time my first impressions of their premises were not good. The forecourt was over-filled with cars and you had to squeeze past cars to move around. The CSL i went to view and test drive was blocked in and the salesman couldn't find the keys to the other car blocking it in.

During this time the salesman was pissing about doing admin stuff and speaking to the garage lackies rather than show me the courtesy of his undivided attention. He was also demonstrated very little knowledge about the CSL, it's differences to a normal M3 or how it's SMG gearbox worked. He also showed little interest in my planned part-ex and couldn't be bothered to give it a once over for a quick estimate of value.

In the end he literally threw the CSL keys at me and said "have a look mate" (on my own).

The car itself...? In a shocking state! It was very dirty both inside as well as outside and even had a child seat fitted in the rear (sales manager's) with evidence of recent occupancy, i.e. shoe marks over the lhs seat back and biscuit crumbs everywhere. :banghead:

The car exterior was also poor - numerous scratches that i could see through the grime, damage to a splitter and the front brake discs clearly looked warped and showed signs of binding! :banghead:

When the salesman eventually bothered himself to come over i was just walking away... Needless to say i went no further with this car or the garage.

You may find that they run a tighter operation with better customer service now that they have a nice new premises but something tells me to stay away...

Rant over. :moan:

Surely the best thing the OP could do would be to get in touch with danr55 and see what the story is. Is the car on SOR with the dealer, or how much did he sell it for, are there any issues ? Even if the dealer is a pillock, if it's a known good car, that might still be OK.

Looks like a nice car but you need to factor in aftersales (unles you are doing your own warrenty), sounds like a bunch of tards tbh but if you live relatively close - ie not in farmer country :hahaha: then go take a look.

Whenever i look at adverts online i always look at the detail in it, you can certainly get a good impression of the car just be reading the advert, the fact the 3rd point they made in their advert was "folding rear seats" shouuts to me they havent a fucking clue what a CSL is :hahaha:

I personally would consider the above before writing it off all together Steve, Dan might be letting them sell the car on his behalf, if he still owns it then he might pull it out of said dealership and do a private deal ;)
