Serious question!
If someone was to put up for sale a new BMW M3 CSL S54 engine with zero miles (straight from Munich) what would it be worth?
Sold with engine loom and keys (no airbox) i am guessing as i have not seen it!

Has anyone had an engine rebuilt at an independent like simpsons etc?. I can't imagine it's anywhere near a £24k warranty bill. Crank, rod, head, block etc would have to be shot for it to get that much.

i agree
cheapest way would be to buy s/h an M3 engine/loom/keys and put the head and cams on it
guess bill would be £2.5k plus £1k

Assuming all parts were on the engine, would gues at £15k .... but does said new engine also come with warrantee ? BMW may state that with new engine you also need new oil cooler, and pipework etc..... wouldnt know really ...been a while since I had a new engine:hahaha:

We always fit new oil coolers on our engine rebuilds. Pipes are ok. You can be reasonably sure of washing most debris out of them but not coolers.;)
