Airbag!!

Had an odd one this morning! Blue skies, perfect weather for a quick CSL blast. While going over an annoying but not drastic sunken drain cover the fucking passenger side curtain airbag deploys!:119: Hazards come on engine cuts out and I drift into an handy lay by.:smt107

While I'm trying to work out if I've been shot or something I look around the car. Nothing amiss apart from the bloody airbag across the passenger window! The car started, so I slowly drove the 5 miles back to my workshop and phoned Anthony/Julian @Simpson's to see if it can be sorted over next week! I'm thinking BMW need to sort this one out.

Anyone heard of this before!

Exactly the same happened to steve gill, BMW told him to f off and blamed it on aftermarket suspension.

If no luck with BMW I am pretty sure I still have the curtain bags from mine, more than welcome to one for nothing.

I've got Intrax on the car, so guess BMW will say the same. I have a good dealer but they know full well it's after market suspension and I haven't got time to mess about putting OEM back on. Have Ring and Spa next weekend.

KAAABOOOM! Hell of a bang and a smell like a shotgun just went off! Crazy. All as I was accelerating hard through 3rd gear. The fucking thin windscreen pillar trim piece with "AIRBAG" written on it smacked me in the head. I think I've got GABRIA stamped on my forehead.:bigcry:

Popped the old girl over to Simpson's this afternoon and thanks to Julian and Joe..........actually, just Joe (he did all the work :whistle: ). New airbag in, GT1 plugged and all fault codes rowed up for airbag deployment cleared.

Quick geo and suspension/steering check and all OK. Ready for Ring/Spa this weekend.:smokin:
