Hey guys I'm back from my hols, had a fab time, 5 days in Orlando, 2 weeks in naples, heaven. I missed you fookers. :gayfight:
Anyways picked the GTR up yesterday a few hours after landing.
What can I say, its frickin awesome.
I was a bit apprehensive, would it be too computer like?, would it drive itself? would it live up to the hype?, would I regret buying it?
I can honestly say, its awesome, brutal acceleration, brakes feel fantastic on the road. It is also willing to shake its tail, which I love. (Ask Jim and Alex;)), but it can when driving properly grip like a mother fucker.
Fitted a full exhaust system today and it now sounds like an exotic, its mind blowing. It was far too quiet before, painfully so.
To sum up.... I think its stunning to look at, its fast as fook, it grips like shit to a blanket, stops on its nose, has all the toys you could want, is comfortable, has 2 personalities a real jekyll and hyde-the mrs could pop the shops in comfort, then I could take it and "live my life 1/4 mile at a time",
Yes its quite thirsty, yes the running costs will be quite high, yes the road noise is quite high, yes the gearbox temps can rise and cause shorter track stints, and i'm sure there are a few other drawbacks,, BUT, am I bothered, not one bit, as soon as you drive it you instantly forget these things. It is a truly great car and a credit to Nissan.
I am loving it up to now, and think I will continue to do so.
PS ill report back after the honeymoon period.

No it was standard. It only done 5k and the brakes and tyres tell me it was a very sedate 5k. Not even run in yet, there were a few when choosing, but most were tatty, this one was perfect inside and out. Everyone who has seen it today thinks its brand new.
I ordered the exhaust before I went on my hols, before I'd collected the car:hahaha:
It was just too quiet, a standard M3 exhaust was louder. And it now sounds like an exotic.
And yes Alex I am chuffed mate, just like you will be with your new M3:beer:
Ill get some pics tomorrow if the weather holds out, gonna get some elbow grease out and bit of a spit and polish. Get some wax on her.

You Bugger Shane.... now you have got me thinking about another car :banghead:
There are a couple GTR's around my way and i love them in black and after hearing Daz and now you talk about them i might have to go check them out.
How does the GTR compare to your modded 911 Turbo?

Nice one Shane, look forward to hearing progress reports throughout.
I dug out my CSL yesterday and then went for a 3 hour round trip in the Diesel Golf thinking, 'Am I mad to not be in the CSL?' until I got onto some typical Irish roads, was glad to be in the Golf. Taking her out today for a wee blast though, can't wait.

I know what you mean Baz, Im in my Diesel 9.9 times out of 10. Heading into London tonight thinking... Diesel or CSL!? It hasn't been out for over a month and hasn't been on a decent stint since Ring in July and fact its going next month, think its over due! Insurance is being poured down the plughole :bigcry:

The porsche was more prestige so to speak, but performance wise the GTR spanks it in every area.
Its also a nice place to be with all the toys, electric heated seats, cruise, full on board computer, bluetooth, keyless go etc etc etc.
Go try one stu:thumbs:, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
They are fookin awesome

No issue so far for me, but apparently on track, gearbox temps can creep up causing shorter stints, Ill update on this.

Yes it has warranty mate as its only 1 yr old, so 2 yrs left.
People have had no issues with claims even with aftermarket stuff so fingers crossed it will be ok.
Ill post up a new thread with pics.
Rob and Shimmy, it was my dads Birthday, not mine:thumbs:
Sorry Shim, had to pick up my car today, so could not make donny. Just got in now.
