I'm pissed off now lol, i've had a clean licience for years and just phoned home to be told that i've got a letter here from police saying i've been caught speeding at
49mph in a 30mph zone.
I'm hoping i get away with 3 points and a £60 fine. :banghead:
What do you guys think????

That's PANTS!!! My husband got a £60 plus 3 points for doing 49 in a 40. I think the usual is around that - esp for first "offence".

The thing is i had only just pulled out of a mates driveway and accelerated upto that speed, wasn't gunning it at all and there he was sitting on his bike behind a tree. i slammed on the anchor and crawled past him at 30mph
When he didn't come after me i thought i had got away with it lol.
I just hope it's not a court summons as i'm not back in UK until December as i've got a month long party in thailand to attend

63% over the speed limit - let's hope they are lenient on you mate!
I was done years ago doing 99mph on a 70mph dual carriageway. Received 4 points, £450 fine. :banghead:

Wiltshire police have given me the option to go on a speed awareness course for an afternoon, instead of 3 points.Still costs £60.So i have taken them up on there offer,as i also have a clean licence.;)

Ignore it ( trust me it works ) ;)
Dont respond / reply or do anything, they need to prove you received the notification, they will either not follow it up ( depends how many others have been caught and are chasing at that time ) they have a % follow up and sort, 99.9% buckle and just bend over and let them slip you one , or send you several shitty / threatening letters, starting with it's an offence to not supply ... Blah Blah Blah, then , another , and then possibly a summons , but very rare, either way if you ignore ALL of those, it's still them that have to prove you received it in the first place, and as the old saying goes !!

DONT do that, I know some peeps that have done it and it's like going to nursery school... ALL day ... id rather the points than some fookwit telling me how he trained ayrton senna, and that speed kills, and everyone should be taking the bus or bike to work, or drive like a 80 year old....

And then pay additional insurance and have a blemish on your licence which will be used against you next time you get caught. I think the sensible option is swallow your pride and listen to them drone.

Bealo - just remove the wrap from the car and claim you were out of country!
Someone with a black BMW must be 'cloning' your reg plate!

years ago I got caught doing 120 in a 70. That was a court appearance.
Get yourself a decent brief - I came away with 5points and a £450 fine, no ban.
There is a guy on northloop.co.uk who specialises in this, Andrew Thompson.

well worth a chat if its court. If its the day at school, ignore the daft advice of "fook that I'd rather have 3 points", do the day. My tuner did the day, he survived.

My Mother had opened the letter and had phoned the police saying that i was out of the country.
She did state the ref number and my name though so now they know that the letter has been received..... but not by me!!!!!
I'm not back in UK until December so i think i will wait to see if more letters arrive and take it from there

Tell the Old Bill that you and your mum arent talking Bealo !!:hahaha:
Ref the Speed awareness course, you are too far over to get an invite mate, the thresholds for it are 30mph limit - 35~39mph, the rest are based upon the speed limit +10%, then +2mph, for the lower thresh hold then +another 4mph for the upper threshold ;)
